The Year Of The Fox Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 Haven't much money as always, so looking to try a last minute deal in march time. Anyone done this before? not just in march clearly. Any websites to use or to avoid or is it better to do these at the travel agents? How much money did you save compared to if you'd booked in advance? How much did you pay and for what ?fire away!
BoneDog Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 I did one about 14 year ago with Thomson to Corfu I think. About half price but we didn't know what resort we were stopping at until we got there. Knew which island, but when you get there the bus from the airport just drives around and drops people off at different spots. It all turned out good, no hassle or shithole. Not sure if that's how it still works though.
The Guvnor Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 Used to do the late holiday deal every year, sadly they are a thing of the past, this is because the later you leave it now the dearer the flight. Booking early is now the cheapest option IMO.

Ice lolly, on the beach. They are the 2 I use when me and mates are booking for a cheap late deal.
Webbo Posted 4 December 2012 Posted 4 December 2012 We used Thomson last year a saved a fair bit. Start looking with about 6 weeks to go.
