davieG Posted 20 July 2005 Share Posted 20 July 2005 Cardiff afford this guy when they were on the verge of admnistration last season and had to have loans off the PFA to pay wages or am Ithinking of a different club. Cardiff City have agreed a £1 million deal for West Brom defender Darren Purse. A host of clubs were chasing the former Birmingham man, but Cardiff have held off strong interest, including a late bid from Southampton, to land Purse. Purse's representative Richard Cody has agreed personal terms with The Bluebirds, and now only a few details at West Brom are left to be resolved. "I have agreed personal terms with Cardiff on Darren's behalf," Cody told skysports.com. "Darren is very happy and now we only have a few minor details to resolve." Purse moved to West Brom last summer, but he is now set to accept the chance of switching to Ninian Park.

Knighton Matt Posted 20 July 2005 Share Posted 20 July 2005 they sold a couple of players to West Ham (Collins and Gabbidon I believe?) for over £3m so I guess most went to paying off debts and the rest went on Purse?
