I know the DVD drive is on the blink with mine. Tells me it can't read the disc.

Sod it, if it goes completely ill just buy a new machine.

Fingers crossed it lasts until the new machine comes out.

i had this. Two things that might help

1st. When disc inserted and message comes up slide an envelope into the gap at the top of disc tray and move it back and forth, side to side for about 30 secs. It cleans something inside, helped mine for ages!

2nd. As you insert disc push on the tray and down on the xbox, seems to work as well
