You can preorder if you want to.  For example, Amazon are still taking preorders but they say they cannot guarantee you will receive one on release day as their initial allocation of preorders have been fully taken.

Don't bother.  Just nip down to Curry's day one you will get one.  I had no problems doing this with the PS3.

Cool, wasn't going to pre-order online due to problems I had when the 360 launched, may pre-order at a shop in town as the guy should have more than enough left or just do what you say and go currys when its released.

All good things come to those who wait...

Besides, it's still launching after the US release of PS4.  I also read they "improved" the hardware in the machine again.  Something to do with the GPU.  All these last minute changes = possible reliability issues?

Upgraded it to 1.75Ghz was originally meant to be 1.5 or 1.6.

Heard there is a huge hardware failure rate (43%) for the console as well don't know how true this is though.

Xbox One Suffers System Malfunction At Comic-Con Numerous Times

Posted by: Ernice Gilbert July 22, 2013 in Microsoft, News, Xbox One 27 Comments

Could this be Red Ring of Death part 2?

Most likely not, but Microsoft had to shut down all Xbox One systems a couple times at Comic-Con, reps at the show told SKNR.

According to the site, While most of the crashes were minor, for a good part of Saturday morning, Xbox One demo systems were powered down and replaced with a panel instead while MS tech investigated the problems.

But the interesting point here is now news about the console crashing numerous times at E3 has been unearthed by Pallab Chatterjee of Media and Entertainment Technologies. According to Pallab, during numerous attempted meetings at E3 the system crashed repeatedly, thus explaining why the one-on-one meetings were ended. Pallab also revealed to SKNR that that they had 6 to 7 attempts at meetings and each time the hardware was unable to be stable enough to complete the demonstration and that the issues seem to remain at Comic Con, as this had been an ongoing problem over the weekend.

Even Sony Comic-Con booth people confirmed the Xbox One crashes with much glee, added SKNR.

It’s a bit troubling that Xbox One has been failing so many times at these gaming events but the media has made no mention of it. But more troubling, to me at least, is the fact the system’s already seeing these issues. And one may argue that the console isn’t out on the market yet and we shouldn’t worry, but with Microsoft’s poor track record on hardware, where millions of Xbox 360 systems died through RRoD, this is very disconcerting.

I don't think so.

VGChartz has gathered the pre-order numbers for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The latest data is up to the week ending August 24, 2013. This includes the week of Gamescom, which set a record for biggest gaming trade show in Europe with more than 340,000 visitors. The pre-order numbers are for the US only and give an estimate how each console is doing about three months before release.

Up until the week ending August 24 the PlayStation 4 currently leads in the total number of pre-orders in the US with about 600,000. This is up significantly since E3 where there were only 75,000 pre-orders. The Xbox One is still  lagging behind with 350,000 pre-orders. This is also way up since E3 where there were only 45,000 pre-orders.

No it isnt

The thing that im finding a bit strange with the XBO at the moment, they pushed and pushed to have the Kinect bundled with the console, yet none of the launch games use anything other than voice commands you could do with the headset instead. Says a lot about the developers faith in the peripheral.

Im actually starting to think they weren't ready to launch but knew what would happen if sony got the jump on them so are forcing it first off with the playable x1's at E3 that turned out to be PC's then with the constant chopping and changing of there stories (not the policy change) just alot of things they said were later corrected or added to but whats really caught my eye is now people are getting hands on with the console alot of them are saying it's crashing 6-7 times through a demo and there has even been cases where they couldn't do a demo cos of it also killer instinct a fighting game keep in mind fighting games have been at 60fps for nearly 10 years now can only run at 720 at 60fps and even then the guys making the game admited they had to remove/optimzie alot of stuff to make it hit that target and lets not forget killer instinct aint no crysis
