Shum Posted 28 July 2005 Posted 28 July 2005 Crazy stuff this, not often you get things like this in Britain. Shows how much the world is changing.
Matt Posted 29 July 2005 Posted 29 July 2005 I was delayed in Charles De Galle airport for about 45 minutes because my flight to Coventry couldn't fly. To be honest I thought I was gonna be stuck in the airport for a long time so considering it was only 45 minutes not bad at all, The was a flight to Doncaster at the same time as my flight as well but the Doncaster flight/plane had still not arrived when I left.

Matt Posted 2 August 2005 Posted 2 August 2005 Just a week after Birmingham was battered by a tornado, another British city has witnessed a US-style twister sweeping across its suburbs.Residents in Bristol were stunned to see a spiralling cloud funnel forming over the south of the city on Monday night. Many described the mini-tornado as being several hundred feet high and lasting for up to 20 minutes. Alan Milkins, 65, from Withywood, said: "It was like something out of the Midwest. It was a long, swirling tube of cloud, which looked like a wriggling worm. "I watched it in the garden and I could see the whole thing uplift. It was very fast. I've never seen anything like it. You don't expect to see something like that in Bristol." Dorothy Gwinnell, 68, from the neighbouring suburb of Whitchurch, said her neighbour had rung her up and told her to look out of the window. "It was lovely. It was very long but it seemed to be moving quite slowly. It was kind of hovering overhead for about 15 or 20 minutes. I was shocked." Despite the spectacular size of the twister, there were no reports of any damage to property. The freak weather comes just days after Birmingham was hit by a tornado. Twenty people were injured after winds of 130mph were recorded in the West Midlands on Thursday afternoon.
Katy Posted 2 August 2005 Posted 2 August 2005 There was the miniest of mini tornados in a village not far from me in Lincs last week too, ripped the roof off the church!
