Wilson_6 Posted 17 July 2013 Share Posted 17 July 2013 Leicester City have two goalkeepers in the squad - but which of them should Nigel Pearson play next season? Their first choice is Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, while Conrad Logan came through the youth ranks at Leicester, but didn’t play a single minute last season. I take a look at all two goalkeepers and see what they can provide to the squad. Kasper Schmeichel Son of famous goalkeeper Peter Schemichel, Kasper started his career at Manchester City. During his time at Manchester City, he enjoyed loan spells at Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Cardiff City and Coventry City, before joining Notts County in 2009. Leeds United signed the Dane in 2010. After playing 40 games in the 2010-11 season, Sven-Goran Eriksson signed Schmeichel for the second time (he signed him while at Notts County) at Leicester. In his two seasons at Leicester, he has made 103 appearances for Leicester City. Schmeichel has made himself a fan favourite for his flare and competition. In the summer of 2013, Hull City showed interest for the goalkeeper, but Leicester turned down numerous bids. At only 26 and at maybe the peak of his career, Leicester have a quality goalkeeper with plenty of enthusiasm. Conrad Logan Logan began his career in the youth system of Leicester City in 2001. He went out on loan to Boston United in the 2005-06 season. He made Leicester debut in the 2-0 League Cup win against Macclesfield. In 2006, he went to Boston on loan again. Between 2007 and 2011, the Irish goalkeeper had loan spells at Stockport County, Luton Town, Stockport County, Bristol Rovers and Rotherham United. Since then Logan has been the club’s number two. Only a year older than Schmeichel, Logan proves he has what it takes whenever Schemichel gets injured or dismissed. http://www.givemesport.com/360358-leicester-city-kasper-schmeichel-v-conrad-logan
