Fox in a Box Posted 3 August 2005 Share Posted 3 August 2005 MO JOHNSTON could fast forward Peter Canero's career in New York after Craig Levein killed his dream of making it big in England. The former Kilmarnock defender has a verbal offer to join New York Metro Stars, the side Johnston coaches in the MSL, on a short-term contract. Dunc Posted 3 August 2005 Share Posted 3 August 2005 My old employers have gone down hill. Still he'll have a good summer/fall.
Solihullfox Posted 3 August 2005 Share Posted 3 August 2005 Oh my god. If he was overweight here what will he be like after a couple of months in the States.
Jordan Posted 3 August 2005 Share Posted 3 August 2005 He'll be trim and fit if he does, Bob Bradley and Mo Johnston run fairly tough training sessions here. I don't think we need another right back on the squad, the team really needs a defensive midfielder who can tackle or someone who can put the ball in the net. Also, I hear Levein let him go for a good reason. Everybody on Metro's coaching staff's job is on the line right now, so if MoJo--the assistant coach, btw--is going to recommend new players, he'd better get approval from the manager and general manager and they'd better be good otherwise he'll soon be looking for new employment. P.S.: These damn newspapers still can't get the name right! It's just "MetroStars," one word, two capital letters, no "New York," "New Jersey," or the dreaded "New York/New Jersey." And MLS, not MSL!
