Steve Harmison has retired, following Matthew Hoggard's last month

 

Two top bowlers for England, both probably underrated but pivotal in helping England win the Ashes in 2005, also winning a series in South Africa. Were part of the process in getting England to be one of the best sides in the world.

That only leaves Simon Jones playing from that '05 Ashes attack, and who'd have thought that with the injuries he's had throughout his career?!

 

I still remember that opening spell by Harmision in the '05 series - smashing Langer on the elbow and cutting Ponting's face with a sharp bouncer.

So many great deliveries in that series.

 

Jones reverse-inswinger to Clarke at Old Trafford.

Flintoff to Ponting after he'd got Langer earlier in the over; he also bowled Hayden round his legs with an inch perfect delivery.

Giles bowled a couple of beauties as well.

Was great when 5 Live did a show a couple of months back reuniting the '05 seamers. Certainly the greatest Test series of my lifetime.

One of of the most memorable moments in Cricket for me was when in the Caribbean when Harmison ripped through the Windies attack and got 7-12.

 

He was unstoppable around that time.
