Knighton Matt Posted 8 August 2005 Posted 8 August 2005 Stoke have launched an appeal against the red card shown to defender Gerry Taggart against Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day of the season. Taggart saw red for a foul on Leon Best after just 13 minutes on Saturday. But after viewing the match video, the Potters have launched a bid to have the dismissal overturned in time for Tuesday evening's trip to Leicester. The Football Association's disciplinary commission will meet on Tuesday to decide Taggart's fate. Source
