Ashamed as I am to say it, one of my mates is a sheep shagger and a season ticket holder to boot! He says that Clough wasnt far off getting it right but that, defensively, they were very fragile. Forget goals scored... that wasnt a problem for them. What McClaren has done is given them back a defence. Mi mate said every time the opposition attacked, under Clough, they looked like scoring. Now, apparently, thats no longer the case. Thats where they've improved.
