Early February Transition

Recommended Posts

Like most of you lot I'm never usually bothered what other fans think of our team as I am confident in our ability but did anybody else notice the sudden change of opinion from opposing fans around early February?

From something like "You lot will bottle it, you're never going up, you'll just do a typical Leicester"

To something like "Enjoy it while it lasts, you'll be coming straight back down anyway"

The latter makes me feel smug because people started to acknowledge that we're capable of going up this season but did so whilst still trying to have a dig at us "you'll be coming straight back down"

What do you think caused the sudden change of opinion?

For me I think it was that people started to notice that we've got the ability to finish off tough games and get 3 point instead of 1 or none (Leeds away, Bournemouth away) because of the likes of Super Kev and GTF offering different options late on.

Apologies if this or a similar topic is already on the forum or if it belongs elsewhere, I usually just read the forum without posting, feel free to bite my head off...

I think it's a fair point, as much as I hate to admit it I do care what other people think about my club and I think now the opinion is even turning to, from a number of different fan groups, a sense of 'well done, you guys deserve it' because they can see how much we are the best team in this league. Up the city!

I think because of what happened last season people didn't believe we'd do what we currently are. The change in opinion comes from our consistency, and the way in which we're literally disposing of teams. Some of the movement today was of Premiership quality today, and other fans/pundits etc recognise this.

Things change when people can realistically see that what they assumed, isn't going to be happening.

We won't bottle it this season so they've moved the goalposts to next season as the odds of us failing are ever decreasing.

Usually happens when 'bookies' declare and everyone generally accepts that the odds are pretty much spot on.

I'd like to know why so many have come out with the "you'll be coming straight back down" shit.

If you can stroll this league as much as we have, potentially over 100 points or even breaking the record, with a very young side only getting better then what exactly does a team have to do to look worthy of staying in that league?

Haha, I like the way you put it... "Disposing of teams" because it sounds and feels amazing. It's good to be a Leicester fan

Most people said what they did because of absolutely nothing other than bitterness and anyone who's said that and denied it is kidding themselves. They've backtracked because they know there's no way we're ****ing this.

Only thing that can prove to others that we can stay in the league is to actually stay in the league. Money where the mouth is situation.

Fact is right now no one on the planey knows if we can or can't last a season in the Prem until we get there. So there's no point in worrying about proving something so far into the future. As our new philosophy says "One game at a time"
