Finnaldo Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Wigan / Reading - Tin pot little clubs with shit fans who shouldn't be in the premiership. Seriously? Wigan are in a hotbed of Football League/Premiership activity. Man U, Man City, Blackburn, Burnley, Morcambe, Accrington, Preston, Blackpool. Possibly more, that lists off the top of my head. Then you have to consider their extremely sharp rise into the Football League as well. They were never going to have a large fanbase. Imagine if there were 7 established football league teams in Leicestershire. Leicester have only been in the Football League for 10 years, and we're in the same position as we are now. If someone turned round and said "they have a shitty fanbase, they don't deserve to go up". I'd prefer Wigan to go up. Nicely ran club. Better than all the other teams in the Play-offs.
lancyclaret Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Derby, QPR and Wigan still think they might NOT need the play-offs to get promoted.
Soar Fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 I'd only want Wigan to miss out on getting promotion because I don't like Dave Whelan. He broke his leg in the FA cup final if anyone didn't know.
Guy Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Brighton are my "second team" in the Championship so obviously I would like to see them go up (via the play offs) with us and Burnley - assuming the present status quo is maintained. Reality tells me QPR as the favourites though and to even still be able to challenge Burnley for second. Wigan looking strong but quintessentially may get that cup distraction again that cost them so dearly from a league perspective last season of course despite their current spellbinding form! - but even so I'd select them in my final play of position along with QPR Brighton and Derby, the latter of which will probably recover from their present wobble. Rank outsiders - Watford again not Forest - ha!
