cjslcfc Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 So there it is. Finally, we have that beloved yellow bar over our name in the table, the magnificent number 1 to the left of it and the magical letter "C" to rubber-stamp the season as a whole. What satisfied me most was how much more it seemed to mean to Nige tonight. He let himself go but only once the whole job was finished, the ultimate professional. He didn't want to settle for second best. He's a winner and that winning mentality has shone right through the squad throughout this wonderful season. I have been so happy to see him celebrating and enjoying winning the title with the players in the videos I've watched on foxes player. It makes you immediately forget his professional and seemingly "dull" approach and personality to the media. Yet, what makes tonight the epitome of everything that is good about Leicester under Nigel Pearson and everything that was bad about Leicester in the rest of the 10 years outside of the Premier League comes in the form of one player and one event: a right footed thunderbolt from the loveable but frustrating Lloyd Dyer. I challenge anyone to find a more fitting way to confirm ourselves as champions. If you had told me on the 1st July 2008 that, in just under 6 years time, this free signing from MK Dons would be sending us up as Champions to the Premier League with a right-footed thunderbolt from 18 yards, I'd have seriously advised you to go and get your head checked. Lloyd Dyer personifies everything we love about this club and underlines everything that has led this club back to the promised land. At times, Leicester can frustrate and disappoint us to the point of utter despair, yet we can find no way to hate the club. At others, Leicester can astonish and amaze us, going from the ridiculous to the sublime in a split second. As fans we value desire, passion, spirit, determination and a love for the club as the most important characteristics. We want to see our players playing for the shirt and not just for the wage packet a benevolent Swede and a naïve Board were willing to hand out to the nearest "big name". As a team, the Leicester I know has never been about the big names or the fancy players. The Leicester I know has never been about going into a season as overwhelming favourites. We are a club that has always surprised people, fought the underdog tag and arisen from difficulty to achieve success. Whether it be a League Cup win the year after promotion under O'neill or reaching the play-offs with an "average" but committed squad the year after dropping to the lowest point in our history, we battle through the tough times to get to times like these. Like Lloyd, we are a club that does best when we just get on with things when they aren't going our way. We are a club based on hard work, a team ethic and the occasional flashes of brilliance that reminds people that we aren't just there to make up the numbers. It's a roller-coaster we all love. "The lows make the highs so much better" is a phrase that is banded about often and right now I cannot argue with a single word of it. As I've said there is nothing more suitable to top the occasion than that Lloyd Dyer goal. A special mention also goes to Pearson. After the mediocrity of Levein and co. and the utter madness of Mandaric, Allen and Holloway, Nigel has given me a Leicester team I can be proud of again. At the time, I may have been a little too young to have truly appreciated the success of the O'neill years, so this year and this promotion is certainly the highlight of my time supporting Leicester City. I love this team, I love our manager and I love this club. When he was appointed in 2008 I, like many others, was somewhat underwhelmed. Now, with a short gap between stints, I am thoroughly overwhelmed and overjoyed with the job he has done. I cannot wait for us to "mix it with the big boys" and, you know what, I fear nobody. Bring on the Emirates, bring on Anfield, bring on Old Trafford, bring on Stamford Bridge. It's time for us to cause a few upsets again and it's time for Leicester City's name to return as one which every household in the country comes to know and respect. We're back and I cannot Fvcking wait for it. COME ON!
Langston Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 THEY'LL MAKE A MIGHTY BID BUT THEY WON'T BEAT THE LEICESTER ANYMOOOOORE
bluefox88 Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Fvcking Hell...I'm crying into my cornflakes here. Beautifully put.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 I'm wondering when the traditional Watford end of season pitch invasion is happening. Surely they're safe now?

The final point about fearing " no one " we will hopefully as fans carry into the new season.
Bramhall Fox Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Great post - sums it up. What a night last night - like you, I simply love the togetherness and the team spirit that's been shown above all else this season - simply fantastic. There are very few Managers, or teams, who could do what we've done this season after the simply horrendous end to last season. Spirit, guts, passion, pride - we've shown all of them in abudence, and last night was a totally fantastic way to end this amazing season.
Stadt Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 The only way it could have been more fitting was if Andy King had scored with him being at the Stoke game, nonetheless I love Lloyd Dyer
