artursteppe Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 It seems we can at least see what positions Nigel is looking to fill and what style of player he is looking for. I think if Nuge stays he will drop his interest in Campbell, but it would seem Campbell is being lined up to replace Nugent if necessary. Cardozo or Ulloa, both target men who are good in the air. It would seem either would cost about £5M. Nigel will be hoping for one or the other. I think it is the same with Barry and Sidwell. Hard working committed midfielders with Premiership experience, obviously one would cost more than the other but we can see what Nigel is aiming at.The club's plans for the squad next season seems to be taking shape.

To be honest Campbell and Nugent are a much of a muchness but Ulloa or Cardozo, for a similar amount of money is frightening. I hope we could snaffle the Paraguayan.
cc_star Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Cardozo to City is complete nonsense & standard summer bullshit, isn't it? http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/benfica/transfer-talk/news/cardozo-i-could-leave-benfica_156589.html And Barry? Surely pie in the sky for a newly promoted side when he'll have the pick of most of the rest of the division. That's what I "know" regarding paper talk not actual "targets"
Mark_from_USA Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Here's what we know about 'targets'. The term "British Sports Journalist" is a complete oxymoron. There is no such thing.
1972 Fox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 We all know next to nothing about who our transfer targets are. The so called journalists also know next to nothing as Pearson plays his cards very close to his chest and will not do his business through the media like some managers do. There is probably no truth in most of the names that have been linked in the papers and on here. I prefer it the Pearson way and I'm sure there will be some decent signings to come.

Haven't we known about all three of our signings before we signed them?

1972 Fox Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Haven't we known about all three of our signings before we signed them? Yes there is always speculation (including by myself) and the nearer a player gets to actually signing on the dotted line the rumours become more substantiated. But realistically what percentage of the players that get linked is there any truth in? I would say it is a very small percentage.
