Nitpicking, but I said his kind of person is 'a true example (or representation) of Islam'. I don't think either of us knows that the Dr. has watered down the Quran to suit his own lifestyle, so I'm not sure where you get that from. What do you expect him to act like if he was following the book literally?

I've read the Quran numerous times, more than one translation (I own three different translations and two different versions of The Bible), and what I see in the Dr.'s personality is exactly what I see in the Quran as a whole.

I know that good people like him are following their religion correctly, and I'm not sure what you're getting at exactly, but it seems like you're saying that decent Muslims are not really Muslims because they're not following the book, which to me it seems as if he is. In the Quran it says that if somebody kills a member of your family it is up to you whether you forgive that person or not, and it clearly states that it is better for your soul (if you believe in such a thing) if you do forgive.

Islam was twisted after Muhammad's death, just as Christianity was twisted after Jesus's death and I'd say the versions of Islam you are thinking about are the later versions and not the versions that the prophets preached. Both religions are continuing to get twisted to this day, and both religions have many misguided followers.

Since 2001, aswell as reading the Quran numerous times I've also read at least 80 other books by Muslim scholars from all eras, and listened to at least 300 hours of lectures by numerous scholars, good and bad. I think that after all this time that I've got a pretty good sense of which types of people are doing the work that Muhammad wanted future generations to do, and which types are doing the work that they aren't supposed to be doing. I've talked to many supposed Muslims who don't understand a thing about their own religion, and I've told them as much.

I'm certain that Dr. Taufiq is a true Muslim, and his prophet would be proud of him.

What I'm getting at is that the true version of Islam, or at least a significant portion of it, can be found in the Qu'ran. From this I think it's reasonable to say that a true Muslim is someone who follows it to the letter. To do otherwise would be to go against God's word.

The reason I assume Dr Taufiq does not take the Qu'ran literally is that, despite my limited knowledge of the book, I am aware of certain views advocated within it that I think a good person like himself would not accept. As such I think it's likely that he does indeed subscribe to a 'watered-down' version or his religion and is therefore not a true Muslim by my definition.

It baffles me the amount of times these poor cherrubs who have done wrong only because ,we ,in society havent given them the chances they deserve.

Then we get their mates and family going on about how young Johnny was such a good boy and we are so shocked how this could happen and he was in with the wrong crowd...blah blah.

Just once...ONE fooking time i wanna hear the mum of any of these cretins turn around and say"My boy Johhnny was a fooking cvnt and i knew he would end up this way. I was at my wits end trying to calm this boy down but he wanted to act the big man.He deserves his sentance,im very sorry for bringing this tool into the world and apologise to the victims.

I will have nothing to do with him when he gets out"

PLEASE...just the fooking ONE TIME!!

I heard a story once of a Mother who called the police on her own sons. Can't remember what it was for but anyway, hope that cheers you up.
