(Although we all know that wasn't going to happen anyway) 14758 try and keep up, we also signed Paul gerrard (the best keeper in the league, by a country mile), commons and james, and city? gemmil, keown, dublin, blake blimey really building for the future eh? who's your new sponsors sanatogen? stanner stairlifts? zimmer we'll see come end of season, i'm not too confident forest will be there, but i'm sure city won't be as well 14761 Gerrard better than Walker? Do me a favour, bud! You also missed off Connolly, Gudjonsson, Williams, Tiatto and Makin mate! All five would walk in to Forest's team. And if you want to talk about old players what about your tail between your legs plea for Dez 'i've fell asleep' Walker to come out of retirement to play again for you! Comedy. 14763 connolly, firing them in isn't he gudjonddon yes he would williams, erm can you remind me how he has been recieved by city fans, or do you want me to go back through this forum? makin you are having a laugh now and i'll have gerrard over walker any day of the week 14764 What a great comeback. :: Has Gerrard ever been in the England squad? Quite a simple question really.

Scow Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 Ian Walker has appeared 7 times for England - At least he can get in to the England squad - Gerrard has never been anywhere near because he is mediocre at best. As for Williams - Read the other threads about him, and you can guage how well he's been received.
Ash Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 Well its alot better than that stupid price tag Forest wanted

Guest Daniel Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 i'll walk from london road staton to the clock tower butt naked Watch them birds around the clock tower, they seem to love little worms. Same old forest, always bitter. Infact being relegated (yes we were up last season while you were fighting relegation) bought only one good thing and thats the thought of 6 points from the red side of the trent. I cant wait, oh if tommy plays it could be so nice for us all.

Guest Daniel Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 Ok, i have not got the patience to read any of the Forest fans posts because 99% of fans that join other forums are here to wind up, and annoy. If you are not here for that and havnt been bitter then im sorry but most forest fans are bitter because our club is better. Thank you plesh.

Thank you plesh. 14808 i ain't here to wind anyone up, i was born in leicestershire and lived in leicester for a few years and always have had a soft spot for city, i'll get into general banter, but alot of what is written is bollax anyway ive got a question , was emile heslies first goal for city in a two all draw against barnsley where he cme on as sub? and anyway how can you be better than us? we're above you in the league
Cobbo Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 ive got a question , was emile heslies first goal for city in a two all draw against barnsley where he cme on as sub? If you mean Heskey, no, his first goal was away at Norwich winning us the game 1-0 in the last minute.
Scow Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 atree, you and alot of other Forest fans live in a fantasy world if you believe Gerrard is better than Walker. You have no justification in saying that. Paul Gerrard has done nothing in his career except for spending most of it on the bench.

If Gerrard is better than Walker, why does he not get in the England squad? Simple, because he's nothing more than mediocre. This is the same Gerrard who conceded twice against the mighty Crewe at home. Quite simply, Ian Walker is the best keeper in the Championship. I rate the likes of De Goey, Sullivan, Jones and Poom ahead of Gerrard.

End of Argument.
davieG Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 So if we go up, it will be £600K overall. Those twats should have accepted our £750K offer we offered them a while back! 14728 You never offered £750k. You offered 75k and then made a final offer of £250k. The £750k came from Joe Kinnear who was spouting his usual bullshit to try to talk up Williams' value. £600k seems fair to me even if you lot think he's got a way to go to justify even that price tag. Good luck and see you in December! 14730 Perhaps you'd better have aword with BBC Radio Nottingham then :: Who's Out of Pocket?
Red Mist Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 Perhaps you'd better have aword with BBC Radio Nottingham then :: Who's Out of Pocket? 14838 They picked that up from Kinnear's quote in the Nottingham Evening Post. The final LCFC offer was £250k. There is no way that they would offer £750k when £500k plus add-ons was always the most we were realistically going to get.
City Fan Posted 24 August 2004 Posted 24 August 2004 Wahey! We have some trees on the site! Like Marlon did on Talking Balls, they will be gone when we go to the top of the table and they are struggling in the relegation zone.
atree Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 oh yeah scowy i forgot to mention the might oF MILLWALL, you remember two goals, ring any bells ps iceland was a friendly 30 mins thats all last competative, itlay ****ing up against zola SEVEN YEARS AGO and they say forest fans live in the past
kerryh Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 So If Gerrard gets called up for England and plays half an hour of a friendly it won't count?? As for your mention of us conceding 2 goals against Millwall, I don't recall Scowy saying anywhere Walker was a bloody magician who could stop ALL goals this season! Now it's pretty obvious to everyone who has got the better keeper out of the two teams, stop prolonging your agony and accept defeat.

Gerrard hasn't accomplished as much as Walker in the game and if you ask many nuetrals they would choose Walker over Gerrard without mustering a fart. Now Gerrard might be performing well and good luck to the chap, but also I would like to point out that without Ian Walker we would have possibly had an all time low points record last season. He kept us in alot of games and whether his last competetive match for England was 7 years ago it doesn't matter, because if it was recently then we wouldn't have Walker at all as he'd be at one of the top premiership teams. Let's review this debate in a few months time when the season has properly got started, you had a great end to last season and no doubt Gerrard was part of the reason for that. But on paper we have a better team than you and so come the end of the season we should be higher than you and that should mean Walker has conceded less goals than Gerrard and hence we can end this debate hopefully. I would like to comment that when we were last in this league Ian Walker kept the most clean sheets, so if we do alright this season i'm sure he'll be the main man again.
carl edmundson Posted 25 August 2004 Posted 25 August 2004 no hes been playin absoutly crap i wouldnt pay £1 for him i suggest leicester use there money wisely
Ric Flair Posted 25 August 2004 Author Posted 25 August 2004 no hes been playin absoutly crap i wouldnt pay £1 for him i suggest leicester use there money wisely 15082 Nothing to do with the long ball we play that sails straight over his head all the time then? All of them are playing pretty bad, why single Williams out for abuse? He is a passer of a ball, not a hoofer. Izzet struggled last season as the ball bypassed him the majority of the time and all he could do was try and scrap for the ball or rely on his set pieces to have any involvement in the game. Now if we don't change the way we play then heaven help us, but if that is the fact let's hope Williams moulds his game around our style but it must be a culture shock for him.
