Eastwellfox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Brilliant little player, we had a great team then, good times good memories. great player and servant to the club. Smith, Linekar and Lynex up front. Remember going to Anfield in December 1983 when Liverpool were dominating the football world first half we tore them apart went 2-0 up but had to settle for a draw in the end.

ElusiveEd Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Absolute hero. Always gave 110% Loved the quote "Going to Leicester was like going to a foreign country" You should see the city now mate!
Guest bss9401 Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Top player for us and a genuine legend. Get the ball to him and the crowd were immediately excited. That front line terrorised top quality defences. Great read and fantastic memories. I was lucky enough to see most games played while Lynex was there.
Guest bss9401 Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 I will add to my post above. Leicester City 5 Wolves 0. Stevie Lynex masterclass. Unforgettable performance.
Guest Cujek Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 A player ahead of his time, would be worth a fortune today.
ElusiveEd Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 Hope it hasn't remained a blight on his life but I remember reading how, as a pub licensee, he had a bonfire party and used petrol to ignite it. As well as being badly burnt a child died in the explosion. Think he was fined a few grand but, at a guess, I would think it took it's toll on him. Still a massive LCFC hero to me and one of those I would love to see brought out at half time by Birchy for a chat.
eastendfox Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 What a player. He understates the Liverpool 3-3, one of the best games ever at Filbert Street, and his goal was a volley from somewhere out on the right wing that went past the keeper like a rocket.
Salieri Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 He was in the side around the time I started following, great player and played in a team with a fair bit of quality. I remember getting him (one of the last players I needed) in the Panini sticker album, was like Christmas.
