Stockport County 3-4 LCFC - Post Match Thread

I'm in....... but only if it's Russell Martins' missus doing the measuring. -
I'd say, to us it's not damming because, like you say, we already know but to the outside world who are not as closely invested in our club it would be. Many people, once they realise I'm an LCFC supporter, ask me what the hell has happened as they just see our position now and are aware of our place in the leagues and once stuff like the above has been explained to them they are pretty shocked at the leadership. If I read that as an outsider I'd say it's a very damming and criticising insight into what's happened/happening.

Slippier than Keith Vaz. And that's saying something.

Proper nod and dof of cap to Katie Taylor last night. What a career and top fighter she's been. Even last night at the age of around 40 the speed of that woman's arms is mesmerising. 82000 crowd at Croke Park to see a female fighter is astonishing, even by Irish standards. Take a bow lady and enjoy your retirement.

Anyone get close to what Pipes was on about post match today? Apparently around half a dozen fans right in front of the directors box turned on Top and Rudkin during the 2nd half with masses of verbal hate, abuse and vitriol. They didn't know what to do or say but Pipes mentioned it was that bad he actually forgot he was commentating. Think he also mentioned summin about meetings going on with behind the scenes people who were holding private talks with Top during the game. (Only half heard this bit as was still taking in the stuff about the abuse being thrown at them) Anyone clarify the above?

I watched BDCR very closely in that 1st half. Just about every single f*ck-up involved him. I wouldn't have just subbed him, I'd have sent him home.

Was so full of hope and optimism after Tuesday night but to be brought back down to earth like that was hard to take. Then to hear RM afterwards blame everyone but himself was sickening.

Oxford (H) | Sat 05-Sep | 15:00 KO - Pre Match

Having spent the majority of last season feeling like it was a chore going to matches that only intensified my hatred and anger towards the club I'm actually pretty up for this one today. It's all down to what the club have done with the in's and out's of players (especially the out's), within the transfer market but moreso what I have seen on the pitch so far with these young lads looking to fight and what is seemingly a coming together as a team as each game goes on. Long may this continue but a win today would bring back that hope and pleasure that this club has given me in seasons and times past. It's a shame it's L1 but I'm gonna make the most of this if this direction carries on. Looking forward to this and it's a strange feeling I'm not used to. -
Anyone gonna have 2 spares for this? Drop us a PM if you can help. Cheers.

I hear ya! I just have this huge pathological hatred of Ayew who, to me was THE WORST player ever in a lot more areas than just his ability. I'm still mentally scarred by him.
-
As bad as he was, surely that has to go to Ayew?
-
Same seems to have happened towards the back of P Block Masses of new (mainly young lads) faces up there and is a definite improvement on noise/chants/songs/banter/atmosphere. Pretty sure Oxford are gonna use their whole away allocation so they will be closer than Burton Albion and Plymouth so it should be pretty raucous up there and if I remember right Oxford at home last time got pretty fierce and vocal between us and them. After tonight's result fans up there will be buzzing for this one.
-
Then tell us what you've heard and I'll compare it to what his mum and dad (of whom I'm a family friend of long before Louis was even born) tells me. I could go into a helluva lot more detail but out of respect for Lisa, Don and of course Louis I won't!

Russell has told LP that he wants to play a more defensive style of footie and he's not in his plans going forward. It's a tricky one but LP just wants to play football and it's a toss up between heading to Man U now knowing he's gonna have to either fight to impress and play or be loaned out or stay here and fight for a place knowing his manager has basically binned him already. He's supported Man U since a young kid but LCFC have treated him appallingly and he and his family just want some clarity as to where things stand. As much as I'd love him to stay I think I'd know what I would do if in his position and that would be to go.

I dread to think what it's gonna look and sound like on those days where we only have a very small ticket allocation that's all been taken by these top tier Coach 1ners.
-
By the time half the fans realise we've scored, then actually manage to stand up to clap and cheer, the opposition have kicked off again. I swear to God, around us today was like Dignitas' waiting room
-
I expect nothing that will have us and the future of the club in mind. That was the point of my post.
-
100% they will sell the club for what is the best deal for them and not what is best for the club and it's future.

After 1 (2 ideally but not essential) for this one.. Please DM me if you can help. Cheers
-
May as well put a plea out there, as futile as it may be, but am after 2 tickets for this one if anyone finds they can't make it afterall. PM me if you can help. Cheers.

Genoa - Friendly - KO 19:30 - Filbert Way
ElusiveEd replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
My guess is it's a sly move not to announce a closed door game on the same day, as many fans are expecting to see a full strength team tonight for the first and last time before the season starts. If they had announced there was another game earlier in the day which involved full or fringe players also then many tickets for tonights would have remained unsold as it then just becomes another pre-season friendly. They have branded/marketed it as a major, final pre season game, against an Italian club but in reality, after doing what they have despicably done today with this unannounced behind closed doors game against Cov, and blindsiding fans into buying tickets for it have just shown how much contempt they have for us. It f*cking stinks! -
18 years old today. One of the few players in our squad who still excites and who I'm seriously looking forward to watching this coming season, before he undoubtedly moves on to bigger and better things. Happy Birthday Louis.
