Ian Haggarty Posted 21 February 2015 Author Posted 21 February 2015 Chap, If you're going to abuse someone by sarcastically suggesting they become a brain surgeon, could I suggest you run it by a spell checker first? Or a Dictionary we used to have them in the 30's mine was singed by Arthur Rowley remember him??? Remeber him well. He bust the back of the net at filbert street in a game. Oh sorry that should be "Burst" or is it busted. Being dislexic is a curse. Obviously your spelling is better than mine and you sound intelegent. So why could you not see what I was suggesting in my original team selection. Your sarcastic comment started this tet a tet. Or did you confuse sarcasm for wit?? but hey I am not one to hold a grudge. Sometimes we are just missunderstood eh???
Ian Haggarty Posted 21 February 2015 Author Posted 21 February 2015 This is not a criticism so don't get all pissy with me but I don't understand the formation you've proposed. What are the right back and left backs? To me that means full backs and then the three 'halfs' are all effectively centre backs, so you've got five at the back? Then outside right and left are both wingers, with the forwards as a three, so you've got nobody in central midfield? A 5-0-5 formation? SOS is quite appropriate. Or at the right/left backs actually centre backs so it's a 2-3-5? Deffo a proper old school formation that. Can't do much worse then we have already I suppose. Sorry Mate. Didnt mean to put you down. Your formation of 2 * 3 * 5 is correct, The wingers move up and back. Or the inside men move up and back. The problem with this system is that the wingers or inside players cannot be " Slackers" they are the engine room. They don't need to be creative. They just need to be able to Tackle * Read the Play * Be able to shoot on site * Hard working and able to pass a ball. Back in my day they used to call these players "Footballers" A great manager once said: "There is no grass up in the air son, so keep the ball on the deck" His name was Shankley.

Strictly speaking I hadn't posted to you before in this thread, you're thinking of Wookie, but that's not really relevant. I took the piss not because of your formation (I think we'd lose too many goals on the break with two at the back, but it's a valid opinion), but because you got pretty hostile pretty quickly, and you mocked someone's intelligence by suggesting they become a brain surgen. All computers have spellcheckers, so if you actually are dyslexic I'd suggest you use them before posting that kind of comment. Oh, and more than one ? or ! makes you sound slightly unhinged (see also weller54)...

gazfox9 Posted 21 February 2015 Posted 21 February 2015 It's a pace related tactic the idea was to break with pace Vs Man City because they would obviously play most of the game in our half.... and he did get on his own against Mangela on a few occasions, and with regards to the wing at Man Utd... Mahrez was at AFCON, we were playing away against a possession side with some of the world's best attacking talent, NP knew we wouldn't see much of the ball so countering with pace was important. So playing Vardy on his own upfront or on wing a sound tactic, even though it didn't pan out In theory all that makes sense.... In practice it's painfully obvious to most bar NP that Vardy simply isn't up to premier league standard.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 21 February 2015 Posted 21 February 2015 Everyone's an expert when we're loosing. You think? I always thought people on here thought they were experts when we're losing.
