Carl the Llama Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Spend a week travelling down the Dalmatian coast.
Richmondfox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 what? Hungary isn't a third world country, and Budapest is beautiful. Like someone said though, any more than 4ish days is beginning to push it. It's definitely worth visiting - the architecture is stunning and it's cheap. I was being slightly facetious. The buildings are nice, looking down from the hills over the danube is a great view. The problem is the infrastructure and attitude of the government workers, many still in the old mind set of trying to scam and get a bit more out of tourists. They have conductors on the trams to catch you if you haven't got a ticket not to give help. We had tickets but we couldn't work the stamping machine and they watched us try it. As soon as we got off about seven greasy men surrounded us trying to shake us down, cheaper off the book or they call the police, only about a tenner each but still annoying as we had tickets. St Gillet is an amazing spa and worth a visit with missus. I still recommend Copenhagen.

Yeah I loved that walk with the huge statue at the top, and the Hungarian Parliament and the area around it was beautiful. Plus it was like 30 degrees without a cloud in sight, so pretty perfect. I don't know anything about that, was there for 3 nights in a hostel so nothing too complicated, and didn't have any stories like that. I went to the Szchenyi baths, incredible.

I went to Budapest last summer for 5 days (A bit long tbh, get most of it done in 3) and we never bought a tram ticket once (and we used em 5/6 times) and nobody said anything
