Recommended Posts

My girlfriends son is going away for a week with his school in February ( ages yet) so I thought I would take the girlfriend away for the week whilst he's gone preferably abroad. I was thinking Prague or Barcelona. Anybody have any suggestions

i enjoyed it more than prague, that was in summer though, although quite a few trip advisor type places say it's great around valentines which is february so could check it out. it's a great place.

Budapest is ok, really cheap, the spas are great but I don't see the point in going to a third world country.  Copenhagen is a great place to visit.  Stockholm is next on my Nordic trips.

Speaking as someone who has visited both, Prague and Budapest are great long weekend spots but any more than 4 nights in either could be stretching it. Maybe if you were to go to either you could plan to visit another city within the week also?

Factor in whether or not the weather is a factor as the above might be a bit cold around Feb time!

Richmondfox, each to their own but I think thats a pretty narrow minded view. Some 'third world countries' ( I take it you mean Eastern European) have some beautiful architecture, people are friendly in general and you get more for your money than in other parts of Europe.

Barca is wicked loads to see and do. I did four days there last time and didn't see all I wanted to. Did do a game at camp nou though. Barca 5 Mallorca (and Alan Hutton haha) 0

Fabregas x 3 Alexis Sanchez x 2

lol what? Hungary isn't a third world country, and Budapest is beautiful. Like someone said though, any more than 4ish days is beginning to push it. It's definitely worth visiting - the architecture is stunning and it's cheap.
