This 100%. Some on here will argue the toss, but I believe we would be in a better position now if we had played these two all season, not for one moment saying they are PL quality, however they had an understanding that goes beyond pure ability and may possibly have been enough to make a difference?

Partnerships. That instinctive understanding of each other's game is itself worth quite a few goals per season. Nugent and Vardy have it.

It was no surprise to me that the only time we ever looked anything like scoring against Hull was when Nugent came on. Suddenly, he and Vardy started linking up, running for each other and looking dangerous.

It should have happened much earlier in that game.

Heskey and Claridge had it in abundance..so too in fact did Big Steve and Matt Fryatt.

The best sides have strikers who can make and take goals for each other.
