He’s bad but Okoli’s even worse

The arrogant piss taking out of the opposition by our back line and goalkeeper (all surely coached and insisted upon by the manager) was one of the main reasons we didn’t win the game. It cost us the goal and it’s also just a very arrogant way to play a game of football in my opinion. Ok to play like that when you’re a few goals up and seeing a game out but it’s no way to play when 0-1 up against ten men.

I probably criticise him more than anyone, and have done for years. However, I thought he did pretty well for us yesterday. Yes it’s usually 1 game in the odd 20 he can do so, and he’s mostly awful, but yesterday he was fine.

As long as he’s in the team, we will continue to leak goals left right centre so we have to hope and pray Martin finally works it out.

Yet we have to put up with him week in week out, whatever level we are at.

First goal utterly pathetic. Also when their player hit the bar with a header in 2nd half. Pathetic challenge from Luke. Their player seemed like ... get out of my way little boy, this is mine. Luke feeble.

They seem to have done so since I went on 606! Monday night club last night, Johnathan Norcroft , Henry Winter, Jeff Sterling covered it today as well.

If I’d known Martin was getting the job at the time I got a season ticket, I wouldn’t have got one. This post is not me defending him. I hated the Enzo football as well, and the football we at times played last week at Notts County, too. However, I didn’t think it was too much tippy tappy passing yesterday (outside of the nonsense going on inside our own box). Our goal for example was good work down the right, a fast switch of play, great cross in and easy finish. We did try and do that a few times in wide areas, get decent crosses in but there is literally no one in the box to get on the end of them. I didn’t think that’s what he said about Britstic either, I thought he said his game is about power and running but he couldn’t do that anymore because he hasn’t trained enough and was tired. The club have once again made a total mess of recruitment. We’ve got one striker, two centre halves, neither of whom want to be here plus a load of very similar (albeit good) little players who would thrive with physicality and decent players around them. I don’t think any Manager good or bad stands a chance here at the moment.

Abysmal for the first 30 ish. Waiting for the ball too often, feigning injury too often. Got better, though. Might do ok but will find Martin football very difficult I think.

We have some lovely little players, don’t we? Braybrooke (although lost the ball too often today), Alves, Watson, Howell, Page. All look really good players, far too good for this level yet the issue with all of them except Page is they’re so lightweight. Clearly they need a bit of physicality and height around them. The squad is hopelessly in balanced for a start. Add to that the rotten, confidence devoid wasters like Skipp, Thomas, Okoli and Bobby DR. Add to that a goalkeeper who has played about 20 games in 5 seasons and thinks his Manager’s instruction of ‘play it short where you can’ seems to include even doing so to a player who is marked and / or facing his own goal and is incapable of playing out from the back. Add to that a Manager who believes so fiercely in a style of play that means you keep possession against ten men so dominantly, yet only create one meaningful chance in an hour of football (Watson dragged shot wide) . A Manager who cannot see Luke Thomas is the most pathetic wimp of a footballer you’re ever likely to see ( ended up inverted full back LOL). WHY IS HE PICKING HIM A Manager who took off the only tall physical threat we had on the pitch up front and replaced him with a dwarf who ain’t even a striker. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.

I just can’t understand it.

If Luke starts, it tells me everything about Russell Martin. He cannot possibly start after last week. Reid as well- let’s have a proper striker leading the line please.

He was flown out there with all his family and shown round the club as well. What were we thinking saying no.

I didn’t enjoy the Enzo season. Vestergaard walking around, rolling the ball under his foot, 10 passes around the back before we got anywhere. Rigid, dull football. The only team that season to have more possession than Enzo’s Leicester….. Russell’s Southampton. Just the man we didn’t want.

The Millwall players are all staying at Champneys, Ashby DLZ this week. I saw them all yesterday. Clearly a relaxing spa week pre a game with our softies is the right prep! Doubt they’ll have an easier game all season.

I dislike Winks quite a lot and I don’t too he gives a shit particularly. However, I thought he was probably our best player on Saturday despite being pathetic for the goal. What a season huh.

I thought Luke’s pathetic attempt at fouling the lad who dribbled and then Winks giving up as their number 9 went to shoot was far worse.

Riccy was the only one I thought was trying against Swansea. Didn’t play well, but tried .

Luke ****ing Thomas will be shitting himself.

Towing a caravan for most of the game today. Great feet, can see passes before most others can but… is he even fit? Would rather Louis Page than him

Absolutely no chance we’d be in the bottom 3 if he’d come here in the summer btw.
