Arriba Los Zorros Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Both have faults but as a strike PARTNERSHIP the best we have! Forget Kram and Ulloa, let's have these two up front together please, we look most dangerous and cohesive with their pace and crucially understanding. It may be too late but lets go to what served us well last year
lgfualol Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Definitely. It helped Spurs' defence are not that good.
shailen Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 They link up so well. Know each others games inside out. I've said I'd like to see Vardy wide left, and got shut down for it. Nugent should play in the hole behind Ulloa. We looked very good offensively today
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 interesting view given kramaric has barely played in a two never mind with all possible options.
Oldfox67 Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 THIS! May well have been enough with the addition of 15/16 million spent on strengthend midfield and defence instead of Krama / Ulloa
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Keeper De Laet Huth Wasilewski Schlupp Mahrez Drinkwater James Vardy Nugent Kramaric
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 This place Vardy and Nugent are good enough for this level are they. I think the 6 goals they scored in a combined 55-60 odd appearances sort of suggests otherwise. Although they looked alright today so clearly bringing the strikers that have netted nearly twice as many as that was an obvious mistake (not saying Ulloa would of been my choice but we needed to add). I'd keep them both for next season obv but both aren't going to cut it as first team starters in a comfortabley surviving team at this level.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 For me we should play Nuge +1. We always create lots of clear cut chances with him in the side.
cc_star Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Nugent needs to play! He's a great team player and things just have a higher tempo and more purpose when he's playing. Partnerships make a team better than the sum of its parts, Drinky & James... Nugent and Vardy Only partnership of note this season was Hammond and King in those early games

They have played a lot out wide in all fairness but I agree with your point. If he picked just them in the next match and they failed, Pearson would get slammed.

Corky Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Depressing though it may seem we appear to be better when Nugent plays. Never been the most popular but tends to be quite effective.
kingfox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 And that's why they started over Mahrez & Kramaric. Energy & hard work instead of overrated flamboyance.

Hardly relevant for us though is it
ScouseFox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Keeper De Laet Huth Wasilewski Schlupp Mahrez Drinkwater James Vardy Nugent Kramaric get better full backs an tops 5 year champions league plan is ON imo
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 no you're right, Swansea wont be wanting to play them together. Hardly relevant for us though is it Their chasing a European place keep your arguement relevant
Strokes Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Wasn't Vardy out wide today? Which sort of contradicts the OP anyway. He was, I'm just saying he will never be rich in goals from out there.
Mark Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Both have faults but as a strike PARTNERSHIP the best we have! Forget Kram and Ulloa, let's have these two up front together please, we look most dangerous and cohesive with their pace and crucially understanding. It may be too late but lets go to what served us well last year Ulloa was the wrong type of striker we needed, that couldn't be more clear. Having Ulloa up front made it difficult to successfully play the way we did last season. So going into this league with a change of approach wasn't the best idea especially when the winger we signed to provide crosses is completely out of favour/not good enough. What we needed were proper alternatives to Nugent/Vardy.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 21 March 2015 Author Posted 21 March 2015 Their chasing a European place keep your arguement relevant nope they are mid table as could be, safe from relegation, season over. where we have the potential to be if we'd built on last season properly
Webbo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 I believe the idea of Ulloa was to hold the ball up when we played one up front, which at the start of the season seemed a good idea and would be necessary against the better teams.
Stevosevic Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 They'll be great again next season so if they can get some confidence in these last few games then fantastic.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 nope they are mid table as could be, safe from relegation, season over. where we have the potential to be if we'd built on last season properly No their 8th, (and I never said mid table I said survive comfortably i.e about 15th 4-6 points away from the drop, which is what we actually should be aiming for ) 7th could qualify for Europe, if you think we could be there if we'd "built properly" your on a different planet to most of us.
StanSP Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Both today linked up superbly. Goal and assist for each. Both goals were extremely well taken but for me Vardy's was better as it required slightly more effort to execute. Lovely ball across from Nuge though.
Monsell1976 Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Both worked hard, and played well, in all fairness to kramaric, I would like to him play in a two, or how we played today, for a run of games. The poor lad has been used mainly as a lone striker, and he works hard, but lightweight.
