If we didn't know better we might say we ought not to have a system where people like Charles can get in on the whim of something as trivial as who their parents were.

If they didn't make us so much money and enhance the reputation of the country so much we probably wouldn't. If we did disband the monarchy they'd still make the money on the private market, just keep it for themselves rather than let the rest of us enjoy it. You get the feeling some people think if we removed the monarchy they'd get to see the Queen in a council house. Support for the monarchy would drop like a shot if he was in charge mind, hand it straight to Wills and Kate.

I'm quite split on it, obviously I think privacy and freedoms are paramount but I think you have extra responsibility as a member of the Royal family and we know that with the power and influence Charles can command if he is using it to his personal benefit I think his servants should know just what it is he wants. Look at Her Majesty, she's conducted herself how every monarch should and she's the reason why support for it runs so high in this country.
