When I used to have Sky TV (no really, I did) there were some channels showing Nigerian television output and they all spoke in this strange English-but-not-English way.  And to think I got rid of it!

Check out from 16:14 in this episode of much missed 90s post pub telly programme TV Offal:

That is a shit-stain of a language. It's like someone learnt 20 words of English (while drunk and wearing ear-plugs) then was given an English exam.

Do you know what a "pidgin" is?

Edit to add that I can't help but do the same thing as:

I know it says Nigerian but for some reason, I can only read that in a thick Jamaican accent.
