davieG Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Wolves are close to completing a deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Nigel Quashie on loan for the rest of the season. Quashie is at the Championship leaders' training ground to finalise his move just days after his spell at Birmingham City finished. The 30-year-old had spent three months on loan at Birmingham and made 11 apppearances - two of which were against Wolves. His last game for Blues was in the FA Cup defeat by their local rivals, which means he will not be able to make his debut in Saturday's fourth-round tie against Middlesbrough. The Scotland international's impending switch to Molineux will end manager Mick McCarthy's quest to add a central midfielder to his squad. McCarthy had also been chasing Bristol City's Marvin Elliott and QPR's Mikele Leigertwood, but has now agreed a deal for Quashie, who had been linked with Newcastle United. Quashie will become the second West Ham player to join Wolves in the transfer window after winger Kyel Reid was signed on loan last week.
JoeyB Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Hopefully that means Davies on loan - Rest of season or even on a perm.
Brainy Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 They'll undoubtedly get relegated next season if he signs permanently.
Pegosteve Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Nigel Quashie has joined Wolves today McCarthy saying his midfield experience will help during their run in. Does this mean we might stand a chance of keeping Mark Davies? Lets hope so.
Rocky Dennis Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Another Davies thread Why reply then if it annoys you so?
James_lcfc Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Another Davies thread Can't we just make this the Mark Davies Forum?...
Dan Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 He is a centre mid player on loan until the end of the season. Obviously showing that Mick McCarthy won't be needing Mark Davies. This seems a step closer to getting him on a permanent IMO what do you all think?
Ashley Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Another thread on Mark Davies, been posted how many times already today?
whitlock Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Already a topic started my friend, check general football
Dan Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 Oh. To be fair it could potentially affect us in a good way.
Ultra Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Davies > Quashie. But if McCarthy thinks differently, let's not quibble with him..
