  1. I can imagine - Body must be furious with you I ran 15:37, but that was 11 years ago now so it barely counts as a PB! Really trying to go under 16 minutes again at the moment as I haven't done that for 10 years. Had a go 2 weeks ago at parkrun but missed it by 12 seconds. I was on my own so maybe could have gone a bit quicker with some competition but not sure...I was fully on the pain train and hanging on for dear life after about 1k!
  2. Cheers. I don't really have any accomplishments to speak of as other than the odd parkrun I don't race anymore! I have been training pretty hard recently so I might do the odd race this year. I'm quite a way off even being considered sub-elite though...absolutely miles off 'elite'! You must have some pretty special DOMS by today? I have so many little niggles that that sort of distance would absolutely ruin me...it's an impressive achievement.
  3. Just saw this on the FT Strava - Phenomenal effort
  4. What did we pay for him? £1 million? It's up there with the Mahrez and Vardy deals for me - Great servant and one of our best ever players.
  5. My local Parkrun is pretty much completely shaded so the heat wasn’t too bad this morning. Out at 7 am latest for the next two days though!
  6. Just nice at 6 AM this morning...don't fancy it any warmer! Got a hard effort planned at Parkrun tomorrow morning...not going to be fun.
  7. Ouch - Those stress levels whilst sleeping are not ideal! I guess your HRV tanked as well? I'm a geek for the Garmin data aswell...can't help it!
  8. Up to 21 degrees before 9 AM on Monday apparently. Bit warm!
  9. Yeah great session - Short one but tough when you don't get 'proper' recoveries between the efforts.
  10. The 'grabbed by the jeffries sessions' are the ones that really move the needle fitness-wise for me - Intervals of a km and below. Massive benefits to running form, economy and VO2max. Traditional 5km training would benefit any Marathon block IMO - Just make it a bit more miserable
  11. 3.59 marathon is brutal due to the sheer time on feet. I love running but can barely comprehend running for that length of time...horrible. The sub 20 would be more impressive in your example though, as I guess people with that 5k time would be ~3:15 in the marathon.
  12. Agree with all this. I've never paid attention to the classification either - No idea what a 'Neutral' shoe is compared to others I just make sure they are pretty light and have decent energy return based on the reviews here - https://runrepeat.com/ If they wear quickly or cause blisters I never buy them again. For example, I've always been surprised people love the Novablasts so much - The pair I had felt pretty good underfoot, but had a hole in the upper after about 3 weeks...which is pretty rubbish! SL's are in a completely different league IMO, but everyone is different.
  13. Yeah, good point. It's not something I've ever considered to be honest...been running daily for nearly 15 years and I have no idea what my 'style' is. Never bothered with a gait analysis or anything like that, but it's definitely something I'd consider if I was picking up a lot of injuries.
  14. Just picked up a pair of Pro 4's for just under £150 ...to try to force myself into racing a bit more! Love the SL's so I'm expecting big things.
  15. A couple of average at best performances and people are getting called out for being 'overly negative' if they dare be critical! Most accepting fan base in the country, surely!
