Yeah you're right about the double standards when it comes to policing and sentencing the respective protests. In terms of 'level of outrage' I don't know how you go about quantifying it and there's certainly been a backlash towards the farmers' protests. I don't think they're particularly popular in the UK. I think any complaints about how the general public respond are a bit pointless as people are always going to be more sympathetic towards protesters if they are more sympathetic towards the cause.

Feel sorry for him. Comes across as quite spiteful behaviour from the Mum who presumably waited til her daughter was home before reporting. Edit - misread the story and didn't understand that the Mum was out there as well.
