One thing I’d like to see the club do more is embrace our tradition. We’re one of the more historic clubs in the league, yet everything about our match day experience paints us as top-flight novices like Brighton or Bournemouth. I’d like to see goal music binned because it really does just serve to signal a beginning and end to celebration. And, I’d like to see more traditional songs being played. Perhaps from the Filbert Street Blues album or a rendition of When You’re Smiling that isn’t that god awful Jersey Budd version.

What a disaster from Rodgers. We worked hard to get in front, and for a spell we looked in control. His decision to revert to a back 5 and a deep block at home to Brighton & Hove Albion is ridiculous. Having seen our lack of aggression in defending, how on earth can he justify trying to defend for 35-40 minutes?

Since the Srivadhannaprabhas took over the club, expectations and ambitions have been raised and realised. An unlikely title, a maiden FA Cup, two more top 5 finishes, a state of the art training ground and stadium expansion signal that fans should keep dreaming and expecting. He may well be very right but he really should not be saying that. I really resent the implication that fans of the club expect too much when we’ve been groomed to expect for the best part of a decade.

We’ve had a below par season for a variety of reasons. I think it’s a big overreaction to say we’re going backwards. We’re probably treading water at the moment.
