Ruud inherited a mess, but there is ZERO excuse for playing Ward, ZERO excuse for not starting Buonanotte and ZERO excuse for not bringing him on at halftime. He needs to at the very least improve the shape and I'll say it for the 10th time today, do the basics, if he can't show that he can get the players doing the basics, it's probably safer to not spend in Jan and just go down for a couple of seasons so we can finally rid the club of the deadwood we've been hanging on to for so long. No excuses now, we have to start improving what we have at the very least, or even 100m won't save us in Jan.

I fully support any fan leaving early, tickets are expensive, traffic is awful, then the players just can't be bothered to put a proper shift in. I don't even bother to go anymore, what's the point? They are not worth it.

On our current performances I’ll give him until February to bring a few players in and nail down the basics, if by Feb nothing has improved I’d be tempted. can’t help but think we don’t play this badly with Moyes in charge. The fact the players are allowed to play with such little care for the badge is criminal. We are a carbon copy of United but without the talent. A period of success, followed by years of decline, overpaid players who don’t care about the club, overpaid people at the top, and absolutely zero leadership, zero standards. I’d even be tempted to get Nige back In at this point to fix the foundations. Joke of a club. I’ve lost all passion for us these days, I’m not even bothering to watch the 2nd half.

My head is all over the place in just 4 matches, he doesn’t look good enough, I wasn’t expecting miracles but I was expecting atleast the basics, you don’t get a prem job without being capable of addressing the basics (in most cases) We’ve found the only manager in Europe that would pick Ward over iversen. Do we try to back him in January? If we back him in January and he doesn’t improve us or get the basics right, can we afford to sack? Or are we just consigned to having Ruud manage us in the championship? I feel like I’m being massively harsh on him here because of what he’s inherited, but the man has put Ward in goal. If this football continues throughout January I’d be very tempted to change again, then again we might not be able to even get anyone. Maybe Corberan or Rohl will join us in the championship. This is dire, need a second half miracle.

Honestly I don’t envy what Ruud has walked into, but in 4 games he’s done nothing to show me he’s upto the task other than get a small manger bounce where we got some fortunate results, overall our play has been atrocious.

What do we do in January? We need to either spend £100m or spend £0. unless Ruud can pull of some miracle and bring in a loan player like Lindelof and a few cheap workhorses in defence I’m worried about giving him any money if this is how we setup. Sleepwalking back into financial issues if we spent big and go down.

Massive question marks over Ruud already. Hes walked into a baptism of fire, but January won’t save us, if he can’t get the players doing the very basics what’s the point in giving him money. We are bad, but I refuse to believe these players cannot do the basics to even league 1 level. I don’t care how bad Iversen must be in training, we’ve managed to find the only manager in the top flights of Europe who would play Ward.

Defenders to look at in January (Send back Edouard) LOAN - Victor Lindelof - Contract expiring in summer, not featured much this season, he needs to put himself in the shop window for the summer, if we stay up and he does well we can get him free. SIGN - Reinildo (Atl Madrid Left Back) - Experienced, low wages, free in summer so will likely come cheap if we can agree a deal, really solid both defensively and offensively, can play CB so perfect for back 3. Likely 10m or less, give him a relegation clause. Maybe (depends on situation) SIGN - Chancel Mbemba (CB Marseille) Deal up in summer, wants to leave Marseille, prem experience with Newcastle, Champs league experience with Porto, would be a cheap CB who is strong and athletic. Only concern is he has fallen out with Marseille over something quite trivial which between him and the club has spiralled, he missed a medical on return from international duty, was fined wages that he felt was unfair, filed a complain with the LFP, LFP ruled in Chancels favour after hearing the evidence, the club refused to to pay, he's been thrown in the reserves and is desperate to leave. Chancel is in the wrong for missing the examination, however the closer details are hard to find, and the LFP have ruled in his favour. Honking performance, today’s performance roughly aligns to where I expected us to be if Cooper stayed on. Not quite sure how much blame Ruud can take for today as the job he’s taken on is monumental but we were tactically abysmal today. Add in absolutely zero desire or care from the players and you end up 4-0 down. Everyone is to blame for that, we need signings in Jan.

To be honest, todays match is a natural progression of where I expected us to be if Cooper stayed, genuinely zero improvement today relative to his last game. Absolutely awful from everyone involved. Not sure how much responsibility Ruud takes for this but we’ve been tactically abysmal today. We need a MASSIVE January.

3-1, much improved 2nd half, Bilal made me look a complete idiot and I couldn't be happier about it. Defensively we were rocky, but we would have conceded 5 just a couple of weeks ago, players would have dribbled through us. Take that start 100%, gives us a small bit of breathing room to the bottom 3 on paper again, now we need a strong week of drills.
