It just feels inevitable. Once again Tops incompetence has put us into a situation where owners are going to wait us out until Top accepts a lowball bid, at which point he will be so desperate to sell he will probably sell us to any old charlatan to escape. Death, Taxes, and Top only making a decision when it's too late.

I haven't been to games, so I haven't seen the sort of abuse being talked about from the stands, but I have seen a lot of the aggression and anger towards RM but sometimes crossing the line into the personal online. Seriously, if a football result makes you want to personally abuse the manager regarding him or his life outside of the pitch, you really need to take stock of yourselves. Criticise the football constructively. Don't abuse people you have never met personally because you're in a football cult.

The whole club does have a feeling of Only Fools about it.

One thing I said in summer was that if RM was appointed, we would at least be in the market for and promoting young players who can pass a football. McCarthy is the mystery here, but I've seen positive signs from quite a few players individually that give me confidence that this can be turned around, whether that be under RM or under someone else. Similar to the Puel situation, regardless of what people thought of Puel, he left the squad in a far healthier and more dynamic position than he inherited, and that led to Rodgers being able to come in, tweak a few things and make the most of the players Puel signed for his own style. It's really early says, but Aluko, Page, Braybrook, Howell, Alves, Joseph and Riis all look like they have something good to build upon this season, Lundstram looks a decent addition. Then we have O'Hora and Kangasniemi who could form a decent partnership, Chaplin and Cullen with a bit of form would be very good at this level. BDCR for his flaws and his god awful finishing has been getting himself into really smart positions, again with a bit of form he might contribute a fair few goals this season. Bristric has not been able to perform In front of goal yet, but we looks better with him in the team which is always a good sign. I definitely hate far fewer Leicester City players, and feel more optimism for the squad going forward than I have done in recent years. If someone whether it be Martin or someone else can get a tune out of us, the quality is there.

If Corberan was to seriously consider PNE, I'd strongly back our chances of getting him. If we can be bought by owners that have some money behind them, our ceiling is absolutely miles clear of PNE right now. They are obviously a better short term option if he was looking for a stepping stone, but they look like they are in for a very rough season, would be far easier to turn us around than turn them around.

Russell Martin often comes across like me in football manager when I just cba to play properly and just want to flick through a season quickly. You pick a plug and play formation, never bother with any individual opponent tweaks, and just accept that you'll probably lose a few games during the season because you didn't bother to adapt to opponents, but you have the confidence that over the course of the season the system will work more times than it doesn't.

This is the issue though, you have identified massive flaws in our system against a 343, and yet RM played it anyway. This has been a running theme with Russell Martin at every single club, even when the opposition play a way that very clearly abuses his systems flaws, he just presses on and his teams concede big numbers in those sorts of games, look at our demolition of them in 23/24. The question is why isn't he adjusting the system to the opponent? Is this just a case of him willing to accept these sorts of games to really bed the system in before tweaking it? does he not believe they can adjust the system yet? To me it just screams playing with fire, and today we almost got burned.

Top has run this club so poorly, I'm absolutely convinced Mike Ashley would be a better owner. It's a really sad state of affairs.

My gut is wanting a British consortium, but I'm really not sure who would be available that would have the sort of money needed to fix this mess. I'd imagine it would be an Arab takeover. As long as it's not American, nothing against Americans but their sports industry is even more broken than ours. I'd still be content with Red Bull selling up their share in Leeds and taking over us. Huge concern over club name/badge, don't care about stadium name. The UK does have some hoops to go through to get a name change through, the FA has pretty strict regulations which protect a clubs heritage. Strong fan opposition I'd imagine would make it almost impossible for us to suddenly become "Red Bull Leicester" They would need written permission from the FA. I'd like to think they would listen to mass fan protests if that was attempted. Give me RB over a Todd Boehly style consortium for sure.

I've been rewatching Band of Brothers (for the 20th time) over the last week or so, easily the greatest TV miniseries ever produced in my opinion. They captured only a fraction of the horror I'd imagine existed there, and yet the actors and directors captured that fraction so well, this show really sends me into a different place inside my own head every time I watch it. I try not to romanticise it, but something about that feeling of entire nations being united to fight to save ourselves, in what is probably the clearest example of a "good vs evil" conflict we've seen, just fills me with a warmth towards those people who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect us all. "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." There is a documentary coming out in a few days to mark the 25th anniversary of BoB's release.

I'd imagine so. But with that said, obviously a "massive" club for this level, and given the mess we find ourselves in, it gives managers a unique opportunity to demand the moon.

The Tifosi booing is massively disappointing there. Kimi won, George didn't do anything stupid beyond just aggressive battling. A lot of people don't like him, but he doesn't deserve that reaction imo.

I often find myself feeling like a disappointed parent despite him being far more talented than I ever will be. Over the years the sheer number of unforced errors have been staggering. Ferarri have put more faith in Leclerc than I believe they would have put in almost anyone. For years Leclerc has been seen as a "Future wdc". Ferrari haven't had the car so he can only do what he can do, but I can't think of many occasions where he's consistently dragged a car further than it should have been. He runs the risk of becoming one of the "best of the rest" drivers imo. Over 1 lap he's top 3, over 50+ he's constantly doing what's expected and very little more unless I'm just misremembering.

It's a really important balance that you wait until it becomes realistically impossible to save the season before you sack. We have to make sure that we turn the same stone over 25 times before we make any decision.

Said in the summer that it's so blindly obvious to us all that the direction is not coming from the ownership. Realistically the only hope we have until we are sold is bringing in a Pearson style manager, someone who will grab the club by the scruff of the neck and march us in a direction. I thought RM might do that, but even he seems to have settled for whatever he inherited. We need an Army general in charge, we cannot progress if we keep trying to make the pieces of 6 different puzzles fit. We need a complete clearout from top to bottom. The only people capable of that is a Peason style manager, or new owners.

It's a perfect break from the LCFC circus

I’ve fallen out of love with football in general because of this club. I guess I’m lucky but I’ve never been someone who is a sort of “die hard” football fan? I lived and breathed this game for years, but I’ve learned to not be tribal about anything really, I haven’t given this club a penny since Brendan Rodgers started serving up his slop in the last 18 months, and I won’t give a penny ever again until we stop playing possession football. Football is an entertainment sport, I’m not entertained. I stick around here because I like the place, it’s sort of like a social stress relief forum, I still follow Leicester because my friends are football fans so it keeps me involved, truth be told if my friends weren’t football fans I’d have stopped watching us years ago and I noticed that change over time, in the last 5/6 years I went from doing the yearly friend group fantasy football, to then making my team and never logging in past the first few games because I had little interest, today I don’t even bother making a team. The club no longer cares about me, so why should I waste my time getting upset about the club, I can’t change anything, I’m irrelevant to them. I have other sports I follow like Formula One, and they don’t get to “not care”. Obviously I still have affection for the place and I would absolutely love to see us back in the top flight and fighting for the badge, but I refuse to ruin my weeks because of this bunch of charlatans.

Given where we are right now we’d have been better off keeping Dean Smith after relegation. We might not have gone up under Enzo, but it’s not as if that money helped us, we blew the lot. We’d likely be forming a championship challenging team right now, the football wouldn’t have been great, but it hasn’t been great for about 6 years anyway.

I agree was talking to my friend on Friday as we watched it, Abdul does the same thing over and over again, and we spoke about Robben in that conversation, the difference was though, Robben had a magic left foot, more often than not Robben delivered an incredible cross or bent it into the corner to score himself, Abdul however is far less consistent, his decision making is often erratic, and he doesn't seem to learn. Don't get me wrong, on his day he looks like a player you'd see going for £40-50m somewhere, but far too often he makes the wrong decision.
