Pardon if this has mentioned before (I imagine it has), but reading an old version of the Guardian promising youngsters list it features Abdul whilst he was at Steadfast I think. I'm pretty sure it suggested he was a no. 10 at that time? With him being continually double marked on the wing, I wonder if it's ever considered to move him inside? Boy, could we do with some creativity there. Not sure if I misremember. Anyway...

I like the song, especially with the jazz hands, but the JB version is very 'Welcome to Wrexham', too cod-Oasis... I remember researching versions of this song in the early 90s, as the lads from Blab Happy were trying to get it reinstated on the pre-match playlist. Best of a bad bunch we could find was a Billie Holiday version. Always thought Tom Meighan or Kasabian would be all over this, but obvs not. Maybe Engelbert will do the honours.
