The line up looks amazing for blue dot except for UNKLE as it’s almost been 5years since he took £40000 for the Mo’wax exhibition by offering a new version of psyence fiction which still hasn’t arrived!
i should probably change my icon thinking about it....

Well that’s wasnt a complete farce at all. Sold out as soon as they went on sale, had to buy through a resale site for double but should be a cracking gig.
The Gaslight sale was a right mess about 14 different pre sales at random times leaving about three tickets for general sale.
looking at the dates London 20, Dublin 23 you could see they were going to add another London date so why not just announce two dates at the same time and make it less chaotic

They'll both be absurd man, still haven't ever gotten to a NIN live effort which is mad really
I think NIN have a couple of European shows booked so hopefully it isn't just festivals, so you get to see them this summer. You could always go to Berlin it's an amazing City and the venue looks ridiculous!

-
Things booked so far this year
Hot snakes in nottingham
Brian Fallon in London and Nottingham
The Hold Steady in London
Frank Turner Lost evenings festival in London
and then at the end of June to Berlin to see Massive Attack one night and then Nine Inch Nails on another at some cool outside fort which looks ace

It’s pretty obvious he wasn’t enjoying his football under Claudio and shakey last season and this but seems to be loving his new found freedom under Puel and playing with a smile on his face.
whether he stays or goes who knows just enjoy it while we can.

Went to Berlin at the weekend to see Ryan Adams.
Ryan Adams was ace and so was Berlin

I went as well, I mean it's bob Dylan one of the greatest songwriters of all time, I also had very low expectations seeng Dylan in 2017 is probably never going to meet your expectations.
what you really want to see is a mid 20's Dylan armed with nothing but a guitar and a harmonica trying to change the world.
sadly what you get is a 70 something year old Dylan backed by a swing band doing some questionable versions of classic songs. That version of blowing in the wind for the encore was terrible.
that said he is still one of the all time greats

Obviously not growing up in Leicester mine are a bit different.
The record shop in Grantham, think I kept them in business for a few years! Barry the owner would keep promos etc for me and pre internet I would go in with a list of stuff I wanted, had read in the NME (back when it was relevant) or had heard on john peel the previous week. Back then they would put the show listings on teletext the following week and I would make notes and then check the listings before going in to order them.
selectadisc in Nottingham simply the best record shop ever.
the music exchange Nottingham, sadly now closed but a great place where the people would remember you, and you felt valued. One of the guys from the music exchange has now set up forever records in Nottingham

Love a bit of Frank Turner, can see why you're putting in the effort, great live.
Was definitely worth it the venue in Nancy was an old boat around 150 people far better than a massive arena!

Love gigs hate the travelling.
Surely by now we should have those star trek transporter's? I mean its the 21st century is anyone even trying?
Can be a bit of a pain I agree but I went to a couple of places I would never have thought of going and Nancy in particular blew me away an absolutely stunning place

Blimey you must really like 'em.
It's all part of the fun I am currently sat on a train after flying out to Lyon Wednesday for a frank turner gig followed by a train to Nancy (4 long hours!) another FT gig and then Nancy-Paris-london-Grantham today.
i intend doing Paris Strasbourg and Brussels for Dillinger escape plan in a few months
-
For me it's the act of taking some time out and putting a record on that works as chill out music doesn't matter if it's boards of Canada or Dillinger escape plan

DJ Andy Smith did a few mix albums... The Document 1,2 & 3.. trip / hip hop, funk as you mentioned... The Document 1 can be found here...
https://www.mixcloud.com/DJAndySmith/the-document-vol-1-dj-andy-smith-1998/
Highly recommended, everything from the Jungle Brothers to Tom Jones via Barry White and Grandmaster Flash
The Tom Jones song on the document 1 is a monster of a tune!
As you can probably tell from my icon I was well into this genre back in the day. Mo'wax, Ninja Tune etc artists such as Tricky, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Coldcut, UNKLE etc Although after the not so recent kickstarter fiasco James Lavelle wont be getting any of my money for a while!
I see someone has already mentioned Grand Central records, for the more pop side of the genre Northern Sulphuric Soul by Rae and Chrisitan is a classic.

Loving the way it swaps between match reports and other little stories. Although sadly my favourite bit is the section titled Future of the Left I see what you did there!
-
Saw Brian Wilson doing Pet Sounds last night. While the show was ok the bloke clearly wasn't up to it anymore, mind you he is 74 the rest of the band basically carried him. very little interaction looked like he was really struggling and would rather have been anywhere else.
Bruce Springsteen tomorrow looking forward to that!
-
I am normally an Oliver Sweeney/Clarks originals man these days but I purchased a pair of New Balance Trainers to be down with the kids, possibly the worst footwear I have ever owned within 6 weeks of infrequent wear the right shoe is coming apart and the left shoe is constantly farting. absolute rubbish
-
Future of the Left
Brian Wilson doing Pet Sounds (particularly looking forward to the goat)
Guessing they'll be pretty similar affairs.
Same here but probably in a different city!
Other notable ones beside the usual ones planned include
Bruce Springsteen in Coventry
Stevie wonder Hyde park
-
First time I've seen them but it did seem very dark!
It was a lot darker than normal last time they played DMH they did safe from harm, karmacoma, unfinished sympathy etc
Loved the Danny drinkwater bit!

B.Dolan has just released an amazing album, well worth a listen.

Great Movie Soundtracks
in Music and Gaming
Posted
First of all anything by John Carpenter is a must amazing album called Anthology release late last year with songs from Halloween, The Fog, escape from New York, assault often precinct 13 etc beautiful dark synthy greatness.
If we’re talking soundtracks then these are classics that don’t seem to have been mentioned.
The Harder they come
Purple Rain (how has this not got a mention)
Superfly
accross 110th street
singles
heartworn highways
would recomend the Atomic Blonde soundtrack and for a collection of great songs the soundtrack To the Vietnam war documentary is brilliant
Score wise I’ve really enjoyed the following recently
paul weller - jawbone
nick cave & Warren Ellis - hell or high water
nicloas brittel - moonlight
onethrix point never - good times
big fan of Clint Mansell as well love Moon and Black Swan
