  1. An accoustic version of Bring it on from there most recent album i've now dowloaded both there albums and like them both

they have actually had 3albums

    Sink or Swim

    The 59 Sound

    American Slang

Amazing band Brian Fallon is a genius, live they are amazing, great interaction with the crowd.

you can find some awesome acoustic songs on youtube

  2. I saw Black Swan last night and thought it was very good. It's not quite as unpleasant as some people have suggested to me but it's a bit full on

I saw this last night and actually really enjoyed it, infact I am surprised how good I thought it was

  3. Or not.

Benicassim is looking on the cards. Strokes and Arctic Monkeys look like a bloody good headline pairing, I don't know enough about Primal Scream at the moment...

try the Vanishing point album! my favourite pretty dark and menacing try Kowalski and if they move kill em both great tracks.

They are also live on 6music tonight!

  4. Saw them in Brighton on Monday night for the second time and would agree with this. Such a tight live act, everything just seems to click into place. Yannis loves a meander as well; on Two Steps Twice he jumped up onto the speaker, onto the second tier, scaled the whole of it up and down, jumped down on the speaker on the opposite side and then finished the song. Worth the entrance alone!

yeah he was wandering around climbing up speakers all over the place in Lincoln as well!

outdid my expectations to be honest everyone was bouncing around, you just couldn't help it

  5. Haha, completely forgot Foo Fighters tickets went on general sale this morning, looking at pretty hefty prices now, can't be bothered.

Just got a couple for Interpol / Surfer Blood at Rock City on the 24th of this month instead, looking forward to that.

Considering We Are Scientists tickets for the 27th too, also in Nottingham.

    would be a good choice!!

The Black Keys last night at Rock City blew me away!! bloody brilliant band live

  6. The Dillinger Escape plan at the rescue rooms last night was total carnage. absolutely brutal......

The lead singer was jumping off the balcony to the crowd below, him and both guitarists were constantly stage diving and at one point the guitarist surfed the crowd up to bar and was rocking solos out along the bar.

Seriously hot and sweaty and absolutely packed and at one point even made me think... f**k I'm to old for this shit!!

  7. In the next 6weeks or so I have the following:

Dillinger Escape Plan @ The Rescue Rooms

The Black Keys @ Rock City

Foals + Pulled Apart By Horses @ The Engine Shed

The Gaslight Anthem + Chuck Ragan @ Rock City

    Titus Andronicus @ The Bodega

Paul Smith (Maximo Park) @ The Bodega

We Are Scientists @ Rock City

NomeansNo @ The Old Bell Derby

The Wedding Present @ Rock City

    Ian Brown @ Rock City

And err I think that's about it!!

should be an epic 6 weeks

  8. Melt Banana, Islington Mill, Weds 20th Oct

Dinosaur Pile-Up, Ruby Lounge, Thurs 21st Oct

Warpaint, Deaf Institute, Sun 24th Oct

The Climbers, Dulcimer, Weds 27th Oct

    Swans, Academy, Sat 30th Oct

    Manchester's still got it.

    SNAP

well sort of Melt Banana at Rock City and Dinosaur at Bodega the following day

  9. You're not even making that up! I would so be there if it didn't involve truly crippling costs... :(

I know it's an insane line up isn't it!!

Shame it's not Green Mind though and if Lou Balrow rejoins them I may not be able to control myself.

And The Sift Bulletin is one of the greatest albums ever.

It isn't cheap at £40.00 but if you get a ticket you have almost a year to save up for everything else

  10. Fair enough you're not into Mumford & Sons, but how do they not produce 'proper music'? I've seen them and they are a hugely talented bunch of musicians. It's only since they've had a bit of mainstream success that suddenly they don't produce the right sort of music anymore.

I really like Mumford and Sons, I don't think anyone can really deny they are incredibly talented musicians and songwriters, I have tickets to see them in October and was actually mighty surprised by the way they went about it. They have avoided going through the usual system of booking through an agency, booked out rock city themselves, promoted it themselves selling tickets through their own website only, using electronic tickets and also charged a reasonable price in £18.50 when every gig sells out they could have easily charged shit loads more.

To me that is proper music and doing it the way it should be done and for that imo they do deserve some credit

  11. Well ideally I'd like someone to find me the new Burial / Stateless / The Xx but I'm not sure that's gonna happen. :/

Just want something where I can lay in the dark, stereo up loud, and completely chill.

Ta for the MTB suggestion - I like a lot of her stuff and didn't realise she had a new album out, so I'll check it out.

or maybe dark night of the soul, danger mouse and sparklehorse album features Flaming Lips, Gruff Rhys, Black Francis, James Mercer and loads loads more very chilled very funky

    maybe the new Caribou album?

think Broken Bells would be a perfect option

  13. Nothing - I'm bored of all the music I own. :( Lib (and anyone else who cares to make suggestions!) help me out.......... :flowers:

what sort of thing you after I SERIOUSLY recommend the new Martina Topley Bird album it's called someplace simple and is stripped down versions of some previous songs and it's simply beautiful!

like this version of Baby Blue
