  1. Probably the best place to be, I know weller was set to play there, If I wasn't busy I would have gone myself, never been to rough trade despite living in london for a while.

Yeah weller played last night but you could only get in with a wrist band and they all went Tuesday as you could only collect them in person. Sister ray on Berwick street is good for vinyl they also deal with second hand stuff.

I've done a bit of a blog on it if you want to take a look

  2. I went to the music exchange in nottingham.

Angelic upstarts LP, Television LP, 10,000 Maniacs LP. Spent a couple of hours there....pretty cool.

I went to London took 90mins to get into rough trade east, crazy stuff by 3pm the queues to get into sister ray were still high into double figures.

    Record store day is great

  3. Speaking of vinyl... Was lucky enough to get an invite to the record store day launch party at rough trade last night some good stuff coming out for rsd this year

  4. Yeah saw them at Alexandra palace the other year when they played the soft bulletin in full and still smiling now! This time it's at the Camden roundhouse so should be ace

I believe Psb have the video screens from the films and then play all the music live should be different

  5. Polar Bear Club are back on tour again and playing firebug. Should check them out if you get a chance. I'll be going to the gig in Manc

Thanks for pointing that out, not sure why they are playing there deserve a far better venue, seems a bit odd but hey I'll be there!

  6. Going to see Pure Love in Nottingham next week. Band formed by x Gallows singer and Hope Conspiracy guitarist.

More like Gaslight Anthem than either of the above but a great band

I was gonna go until I heard the album this week and as for Gaslight Anthem comparison seriously?

Sound nothing like them to me Gaslight have better lyrics, better songs, and are very different as for Pure Love have you heard the album because it's pretty average, one of those albums you listen to about twice and it easilt disappears into the ether.

Been a slow start gig wise but over the next few months I'm off to see...

    The Bronx

    Deap Vally

    Beans on Toast

    Willy Mason

    The Internet

    The Bouncing Souls

    Propagandhi

    Fossil Collective

And you will know us by the trail of the dead

    Public Service Broadcasting

    The Flaming Lips

    Detestival

And what ever else I can sort out

  7. saw on rough trades twitter on saturday they were having a Q&A with Chuck D from Public Enemy on Monday, thought nothing else to do might take a trip down.

was only ment to be chuck D but arriving early saw both Chuck and Flav getting out a car massive clock as well

anyway after talking and talking questions for about an hour they played 45mins of hits including Fight the Power, 911 etc to about 70 people with live mixing from DJ Lord

totally amazing experience to meet and shake hands with such a musical icon and he's such a top bloke as well, still buzzin now

  8. That site will be a fake, if you go to the monster website you can see the fake sites and the authorised dealers, the number of fake beats sites about is ridiculous and those prices are to cheap. Beats are a bit like apple products you don't really get that many deals on prices they are basically the same everywhere.

If you like indie or guitar music you probably won't get the best out of beats, if you only listen to hip hop or dance music they will be pretty impressive.

  9. Being dragged to see McFly today at Hyde Park, help me.

Seeing The Temper Trap, Ocean Colour Scene and Feeder at Hyde Park on the 10th though :)

All the amazing live bands and gigs that go on in London and you go and see the hoosiers, mcfly and feeder! Shocking effort

  10. To be fair although I go to an awful lot of noisy gigs it's not often they're as phenomenally loud as last night (and a good part of the experience of seeing APTBS live is experiencing the sheer volume). I think the fact that I never, ever listen to music through earphones also means my ears are probably in a better condition compared to the teenagers whose ipods can be heard from the other end of a noisy train carriage.

But if post-gig ringing starts failing to wear off after events, I guess it would only be wise to start considering ear-plugs...

best to get in early imo, I know what you mean about the train carriage though!!! annoys the hell out of me. you can get different levels of filters so you can still have it loud! but mainly what they do is take off the very high and low levels of sound that do the damage and infact improves the clarity of the music. mine are custom molded and cost about £100 but you can get some cheap ones for less than £20

I went to see Spiritualized a few years ago and couldn't hear for about 4days, deaf as a post and all that at which tipped me over the edge.

well worth getting some cheap ones to see how you get on, I love going to a gig and being able to hear the next morning especially when like this week I have been to more than one gig
