  1. Rodgers tried to press high though. We then went and signed that great centre back to play this system in Harry Souttar. Bonkers to think really that Rodger’s played Amartey ahead of both Vestergaard and Soyuncu. Jokes aside, Vestergaard is great in our system. It would be a shame to lose him and I’d like to think he’s got another couple of years at the club.
  2. I don’t think our home support is any better, or worse than any other club if I’m honest. Welcome to modern football.

Comes back to the point though. I speak with so many people who have previously voted conservative and are unsure what to do. We won’t vote labour though.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/business-68297420 UK entered recession at end of 2023 The UK fell into recession at the end of 2023 after the economy shrank by 0.3% in the final three months of the year, official figures show. We'll bring you a bit more on why this happened, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), shortly. The UK's most recent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures show the UK entered recession in 2023 GDP shrank by 0.3% in the last three months of 2023 - October to December That follows a fall of 0.1% in the previous quarter, July to September One of Rishi Sunak's five pledges for 2023 was to "grow the economy" The last time the UK's economy was in recession was 2020, during the Covid pandemic GDP is an important tool for judging how well an economy's doing - it's measured by looking at a country's output, expenditure and income
  7. Kristiansen will be an interesting one. Whilst he’s at Bologna, they’re unsure if they want him. He does not want to be with us apparently. It’s like the entire Praet situation all over again.
  8. http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-cannot-carry-operation-sign-leicester-man-may-need-another-big-effort-transfer/ Club ‘cannot carry out’ operation to sign Leicester man – May need another big effort from him for transfer Sevilla ‘cannot carry out’ an operation to sign Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré in the summer, despite a desire to do so. That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who back up reports from Spain that Sevilla currently don’t have the money to activate a €15m clause in his loan deal. The newspaper explains that Soumaré is one of the open fronts that Sevilla has for the summer market, when a rebuild of the squad is expected. The midfielder is currently on loan from Leicester and has bene growing in the team, particularly under Quique Sanchez Flores and there is a willingness to sign him on a permanent basis. They have an option to do so via a €15m purchase clause in his deal but at the moment it would be ‘impossible’ for the Spanish side to activate it. That’s because Sevilla are currently in financial difficulties, which are only set to worsen next year as they won’t have the income from a European competition. Thus, they can’t afford to activate that clause, nor can they activate other clauses they hold for Lucien Agoumé and Hannibal Mejbri. Sevilla are not focusing on them for the moment and have to focus on lightening the squad, getting rid of large salaries to help loosen up the budget and bring it in line. With that as the focus, signing Soumaré on a permanent basis would be ‘complicated’, at least in the current circumstances. Everything can change in the coming months and if the Leicester man was to make an effort to make the transfer happen, it might be possible. He gave up 40% of his wages in the summer to make the loan deal happen and the idea is that he’d have to do that again, or perhaps barter with the Foxes to get a permanent move to Seville.
  9. This for me, was always a back handed compliment for what we were that season. They feared us. To beat us was akin to beating Manchester City or Liverpool today.
  10. I dare not enter, the title alone confused me.
  11. The entire sporting world is now based around sabermetric and analytical data. It sort of blew up after the world became aware of Billy Beanes’ approach to building a team on a shoe string budget with the Oakland Athletics. They were in many ways, the catalyst of sports analysis as see it today, rather than Jimmy Hills opinion with what he was watching with his own eyes. The entire sporting world now revolves around algorithms at a top class level. You can guarantee that the clubs data analysis are crunching these numbers as well.
  12. Southampton and ourselves have a harder run over the next 6 games for sure. We navigate through those better than a Marco Polo / Christopher Columbus double act and we might be over the line all but mathematically.
  13. We might be able to add quite a few to this list by Sunday night. Millwall, Swansea, Birmingham & Blackburn ….

To catch us now, the chasing pack need to average the following more points than us per game. Leeds - 0.85 points per game Southampton - 0.77 points per game Ipswich - 0.82 points per game Ipswich / Leeds still have the easier run in based on team standings, however another 3 points on Saturday, it just adds that little bit more pressure to Leeds before we play them. We are doing a remarkable job, however hats off to the three chasing clubs, as they’re putting up a great chase really and hopefully it’s fireworks for 2nd spot on the final Day.
  15. We are edging closer to teams having to average a point a game more than us to catch us. That’s when we know, we are on the home straight.
  16. These game keep coming! Klopp wouldn’t be happy in this league. We go again on Saturday.
  17. Still think we’ve had the better chances in the 2nd half, it was just a lot scrappier.
  18. In fairness, Kasey or Cannon haven’t really got into this game. It stays like this, it’s another win and we carry on.
  19. We’ve hardly been dominated have we!!! We are playing in 2nd gear.
  20. Meanwhile, over at Hull, they’ve had a decent goal according to Twitter
  21. This half has been scrappy but as a neutral, we’ve maybe had the better chances?
  22. Did Faes turn into Sideshow Bob then and forget the back pass rule existed?
  23. We aren’t going to steam roll teams for 90 minutes in every game we play. Opposition teams will have passages of play, no matter how good / bad we perceive them to be.
  24. We’ve got a goalkeeper that is levels above what we had last season. Vestergaard is years ahead of bloody Daniel Amartey in a system like this as well.
