Rodgers effect in full flow then? Cheers for the info. I didn’t know if he’d be attainable now. Maybe that’s why we’re potentially going in January.

  10. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/josh-brownhill-wages-at-burnley-as-leicester-and-wolves-linked/ How much is Josh Brownhill earning at Burnley as Leicester and Wolves linked? Using capology, Football League World look at how much Josh Brownhill earns at Burnley with Wolves and Leicester City interested. Burnley midfielder, Josh Brownhill, is a transfer target for Wolves and Leicester City this January window. Brownhill’s career has been mainly spent in the EFL. He left Man United’s academy in 2012, joining Preston, where he would play 64 games. After moving to Bristol City and playing 161 games for the club, he joined Burnley in 2020. He’s now a pivotal part of Vincent Kompany’s side, captaining the Clarets in the Premier League this season. Despite being a crucial part of the Burnley set up, he might find himself with a new club come the end of January. Over the weekend, news broke that Wolvesand Leicester City are interested in signing the midfielder. Brownhill’s Burnley are currently struggling in their return to the Premier League, looking a contender for relegation in early December. In comparison, Wolves have found some form of late and are well on their way to safety. Leicester are flying in the Championship and look set to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking. A move to either of these two clubs would be enticing to Brownhill, who will be keen to make sure he’s playing Premier League football next season. The Mirror reported Wolves would part way with £7 million to sign Brownhill, but how much will his wages cost? Using Capology, we’ve looked at the estimated wages of Brownhill at Burnley and how this compares to current Wolves and Leicester City players. Brownhill signed his deal on the 30th January 2020 and his deal is rumoured to be up next summer. This might sway Burnley to sell up to avoid losing him on a free transfer. The 27-year-old is on an estimated £45,000 per week, which is £2,340,000 per year, making him the second-highest earner at the club. If Wolves or Leicester City are to sign Brownhill they should expect to be paying around that amount, if not more, each week. If we compare Brownhill’s wage at Burnley (£45,000) to other players at Wolves, he’s some way off the top earners. Capology estimates that Spaniard Pablo Sarabia is Wolves' top earner, earning a reported £90,000 per week. Sarabia earns double that of Brownhill at Burnley, suggesting wages shouldn’t be an issue for Wolves. Brownhill would be earning the same as Craig Dawson and Mario Lemina if he stayed on the same wage. The pair are on an estimated £45,000 per week as well, making up 4.52% of Wolves’ wages. Compared to Leicester City’s wages, Brownhill is even further off the top earner. Long-term striker Jamie Vardy is on an estimated £140,000 per week, which is extremely high for a Championship player. Leicester have 11 players earning over a reported £50,000 a week. This suggests wages shouldn’t be an issue for the Foxes either if they do try to sign Brownhill.
  11. https://www.caughtoffside.com/2023/12/16/leicester-planning-record-bid-to-sign-playmaker-on-first-week-of-january/ Leicester planning record bid to sign playmaker on first week of January Leicester City are reportedly set to make a move for Matt O’Riley in next month’s January transfer window. The Celtic star was highly sought after last summer with multiple clubs including Championship rivals, Leeds, interested in his signature. However, no move materialised but the interest hasn’t gone away as Leeds, Newcastle and now Leicester City are reportedly eyeing up a move in the January transfer window according to Team Talk. O’Riley only just signed a new contract, with Celtic reportedly setting a £25 million price tag on the 23-year-old. If sold, that would be a record fee in the Scottish league matching the fee Arsenal paid for Kieran Tierney back in August 2019. As both Leeds and Leicester are currently fighting it out in the Championship, the high price tag could lead to a Premier League side pushing both clubs out of the way. If either side can’t get a deal done for the creative midfielder next month, they will both reportedly wait it out with hopes of signing O’Riley during the summer transfer window. But with clubs like Newcastle interested in the Danish international, he may be swept up by then.
  12. It’s like it most seasons.
  13. Manchester City are weaker than last season. Gundoguan and Mahrez are amongst the worlds most elite players and they haven’t been replaced. KDB injured long term has also hurt them. The league is changing and I’d like Aston Villa to really push to win the title. The Premier League needs the top 6 having the hose point out of joint.
  14. I don’t disagree that we need improvements, however if we’d have stayed up, we’d most likely have had Barnes and maybe Castagne. When (should) we get promoted, then we will need to improve in several areas.
  15. No one was calling Vardy, Mahrez or Kante world class outside of Leicester in Christmas 2015. Villa have some good players, I do expect them to drop off though.
  16. It’s just come across wrong. On paper, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool etc all had better squads than us that season. We captured lighting in a bottle. If Villa win the league this season, it won’t match what we did, however it would be impressive. We are unique.
  17. I think the line is also, power leads to corruption. MPs across all parties have done some dodgy stuff. it’s more about the person, than the party at that point. Look back pre this current farcical setup of a government (although it’s less of a circus in my opinion since Rishi took over). Cash for influence Cash for questions Cash for accesses Bury bad news after 9/11 Expenses scandal Keith Vaz Iraq war Jowellgate Cash for honours Expenses scandal Red Sky Scandal Cash for access Piggate Windrush Arms to Iraq Jeffrey Archer Lavender List Suez crisis Marconi scandal Different parties, different times, People doing dodgy stuff.
  18. I agree on your post by the @Daggers. I don’t think anyone could really do wrong, for trying to do right during the initial Covid outbreak. I’m not surprised by some of the information that’s come out, regarding conversations. Where people sit on the morality scale, is what gauges their opinion on what was discussed. Unfortunately, it must have been rough and they were making decisions on the fly, as the information was changing so frequently as we were learning on the go and from the mistakes everyone was making. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Truss destroyed the country and that’s a joke. I’d rather have seen a complete reform in how this country operates if a PM resigns / passes away whilst in post, as this has been an absolute cluster this Conservative government with the chopping and changing (that is coming from someone who voted as a Conservative but not a lover of Boris). The entire infighting and lies of Brexit needed better addressing like you alluded to as well. My personal opinion, not sure if it’s unpopular, is that is a PM can no longer serve, we go back to an election process.
  19. The NHS is just an absolute mess. Trying to phone the doctors is a lottery. 2 year+ waiting times for an appointment, with them recommending you go private. Where the same doctors (as they’re double shifting) might see you a bit quicker for an extra £££££s. Terrible planning and waste of money. Im convinced they get enough, they just pee it up the wall tackling issues rather than root causes. Overworked, underpaid staff. Cancelling anything is an absolute nightmare, rearranging is impossible.
  20. For me, anything less than winning this league is unacceptable at this point.
  21. Not look at the state of the Premier League this season. Still a tragedy that we are even in this league with the quality of players we had at our disposal
  22. In situation like that, where players surround the ref. If the whistle has gone to restart play, they wouldn’t surround the referee.
  23. Let’s add another 15 goals and put these to bed
  24. Daka get in!
