I think that’s the joy of big tournaments, if this was a 38 game season France win at a canter, the leagues probably all wrapped up by Christmas. In a major tournament, you’re one bad performance away from heading home. Who knows where it comes and one big team leaving can change the whole tournament.

You’ve got to feel for Jonathan Tah, should have been the German hero tonight, but it’s turned completely on its head for him in the space of about half an hour.

That’s Uruguay pretty much out of the World Cup - The South American teams I feel have been the biggest let down at this World Cup so far. Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay all been utter rubbish.

Is it just me or is the Ecuador coach Marc Albrighton in a wig?

I wasn’t expecting Tunisia to get out of this group, but based on qualifying I did expect them to be tight at the back, and try and grind out results, they’ve been truely awful… perhaps the worst team at the World Cup so far..

This Japanese side look excellent, watched them a few times in qualifying and they’ve really gone up a notch or two here. Would not like to play them in a knock out game, they are going to go along way in this tournament I think.

2 really poor teams, and a low quality game overall, a couple of lucky goals the difference.

Nah not in the World Cup, imagine he misses and Swiss miss out on top spot by one goal. Forget individual celebrations at this stage and make sure the ball gets in the back of the net in my view.

First win in a million years at the World Cup, maybe generous to them as I expected them to throw it away and I was pleasantly surprised to see them actually get a win.

Look, it’s not an exact science 😂 I suppose I was disappointed with Ecuador, I thought they’d be much better, so maybe harsh on them. Curaçao were terrible, but probably like you say they did exactly what I expected them to do which meant I pushed them up a spot.
