  1. By my reckoning Cardiff, Watford and Bristol City will be the best games to have as we move into the final 10 games. They are completely safe, no chance of going down and more than 10 points adrift of the play offs. They are no longer plying for anything other than pride.
  2. The problem with graphs like this and trying to judge who has the hardest fixtures is it changes so quickly, if a team wins or loses a couple on the bounce they will change quartile. Also last game of the season, would you rather face 4th quartile Huddersfield who need a win to stay up, or mid table Blackburn thinking about their summer holidays?
  3. Next update now most teams are on the same games played again, with just Birmingham and Middlesbrough having a game in hand. For everyone now, just the 39 points to play for. Anyone who cannot catch us is not included on the list. Leicester City 117 Leeds United 108 Ipswich Town 108 Southampton 106 West Bromwich Albion 94 Hull City 93 Cov Scum 90 Norwich City 90 Preston North End 88 Sunderland 86 Middlesbrough 86 Bristol City 83 Watford 83 Cardiff 80 Birmingham City 80 4 more wins and the play-offs are mathematically certain. 10 more wins for promotion, the league title and the record!
  4. Another night of Championship football and more teams added to the list, we’re heading toward half way now… 1. Rotherham 2. Sheffield Wednesday 3. Queens Park Rangers 4. Huddersfield Town 5. Stoke City 6. Millwall 7. Swansea City 8. Blackburn Rovers 9. Plymouth Argyle
  5. It’s okay, if we match all of our results from the first game and we allow Hull, Leeds and Middlesbrough all do the double over us, we would still finish on 112 points and be champions and record holders!
  6. Southampton’s run home is by far the trickiest in my opinion with games against us, Leeds and Ipswich as well as lay off chasing Coventry, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. If they lose tonight, it will be very difficult for them to get to that 100 point mark, which could be the point the makes certain of promotion.
  7. You’re right, but there’s a world of difference between the quality Huddersfield have and the quality Hull have.
  8. Another big night of Championship football coming up. For Ipswich, there are no easy games in the Championship, except maybe Rotherham at home - don’t see too many problems for them, game in hand and they should cut the gap at the top to 9 points. Southampton on the other hand will have to be at their best again, Hull are a very good side and pick up a lot of points on the road. If they turn up they can make it very tricky for Southampton. This is there game in hand and will need a result to get back into the top 6. Interestingly if they win, they go above WBA, who I thought were nailed on for a playoff spot a couple of weeks back. It’s getting fun at the top!
  9. These two Everton and Palace really are shite aren’t they? I honestly don’t see either of these right now being any trouble for the top 4 teams in the championship.
  10. A tackle by Kevin Muscat for Melbourne Victory on Adrian Zhaha - it was an assault, truely horrific. Muscat got an 8 game ban, and Zhaha lost his career that day. He was a promising winger and would have had a decent A League career, didn’t play again after the tackle at the highest level I don’t think. Kevin Muscat really made Roy Keane look like Andy King.
  11. That’s why I left before the end of the thread
  12. Of the 5 games we’ve lost, 3 have been 1-0, and one 2-1. In both Middlesbrough games and the Hull game, we created more than enough chances to win the game, but just had off days. I don’t think chance creation was a problem - look at Saturday, we had at least 4 clear cut opportunities, on another day we win all three of those games. The Leeds game was a bit of a stalemate, their one decent chance fell for them, our one decent chance their keeper pulled off a worldie of a save. - I do think this was the only game where we failed to create anything meaningful. That will need to be looked at here, but I think if Mavididi and Fatawu are firing then we give them all sorts of problems. I’d go with Daka from the start and Vardy for the last 20. The biggest problem is who gives us that physical presence in midfield? I’d be tempted to go with Choudhury over Praet for that purpose. It would mean KDH and Winks would need to be on top form though.
  13. The other thing to look at with fixture difficulty towards the end of the season is who is not playing for anything - I would say the top 10, plus Middlesbrough with their games in hand will still be looking at putting a run together and getting in the play offs. Birmingham City and down still need results to ensure they don’t get dragged into the relegation battle. That leaves Cardiff, Bristol City and Watford as the teams not playing for anything as we move towards the last 10. Looking at the last 6 games of the season it’s likely we will play Millwall needing points to stay up - as our only active game, I think by then WBA will have secured a play off place and the rest will all be mid table. Southampton will play Coventry, Leeds and Stoke who all have something to play for. Leeds will play 5 of there last 6 games against teams with potentially something on the line in Coventry, Sunderland Middlesbrough, QPR and Southampton. Ipswich will play also 5 of their last 6 games against teams who have something to play for in Coventry, Middlesbrough, Hull, Huddersfield and Norwich. The dark side of this is we may all need to be Coventry fans for the last 6 games of the season.
  14. Coventry on the Leeds fixtures needs to be orange too.
  15. Wow, top of the league, on course for a record points tally and the comments in here think we are nailed on for defeat. As a supporter base, sometimes I am astounded by the way we think. Yes they are a good team, but we shouldn’t be going into any game this season thinking we are second best. We are by almost every metric the best team in this league and should fear no one. It’s simple and like every other game this season, if we turn up and play to our best we win.
  16. Why is everyone talking about our form against the better teams in the division as a worry and then talking about the two games against Boro - yes they beat us twice, but they are bang average in this division. They are in that group with Bristol City, Cardiff and Watford who we have taken apart every game. We’ve had two off days against them where the ball just wouldn’t go in the net and they’ve taken their chances. It does not in any way shape or form point to any sort of pattern. In the same way that Southampton lost against Bristol City and Leeds lost to Preston, these games happen and I’m certain each of the top 3 or 4 sides will all lose again this season against a team outside the top 4. It happens
  17. Change this to the six teams directly below us, rather than just 6 teams you’ve picked out because we’ve lost to them and it reads: 8 games: 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats - when you take into account 2 draws we’re both deflected last minute equalisers and 1 of the defeats we were ahead until we went down to 10, it’s not nearly as bad as your randomly picked teams make out.
  18. What a bizarre and random group of teams to select to prove a weird point? Look how badly we did against all the teams we didn’t beat.
  19. Even on a day where nothing else went right, at least we get to add a team to the list. Welcome Swans! 1. Rotherham 2. Sheffield Wednesday 3. Queens Park Rangers 4. Huddersfield Town 5. Stoke City 6. Millwall 7. Swansea City
  20. Just one of those days where nothing really clicked. We go again on Friday!
  21. We may not have had a shot on target but that’s now 4 clear cut opportunities we’ve created and I’m not sure how we haven’t scored at least 1 wait there it is come on!!!!
  22. Fair play to Enzo, he’s not afraid to bring the big players off if they are not doing the business.
  23. I just still don’t feel like we will lose this game. Hit them hard early in the second and watch them roll over. 4-2 win incoming
  24. What on earth is this post? Genuine shit the bed stuff? For the record, even if your prediction comes true, we lost back to back to these same two teams earlier in the season and then went on to increase our lead. Some massive overreactions today in this thread. It’s like some of you enjoy us losing so you can get back to where you feel most comfortable.
  25. We don’t rely on other peoples results, but every game teams like Leeds, Southampton or Ipswich don’t win is one less game we must win. It’s our insurance policy - plus regardless of what’s happening it’s always good to see a club like Leeds fall apart at the end of the season.
