Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Jobyfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Strange timing for that comment since the comments after yesterdays game are almost overwhelmingly positive. Quite a few suggest he’s not a starter but, as his best contributions have all come from the bench, I’d say that there’s currently some logic to that argument as well -

It’s interesting that lots are now putting Ayew in as a starter just as they did Fatawu after the Southampton game. Both have disappointed when they’ve played the full 90 and I’m wondering whether we should hold them back from the bench. Ayew, in particular, is made for the late substitute role. I’d maybe go: Mads Ricardo, Faes, Vesty, VK Winks, Ndidi Goodnight, Bilal, Mavs Vardy Then you’ll have potential game changers from the bench in Fatawu, Ayew and … ‘cough’ … Soumare. They have the European game this week, before they play us, so my main hope is that we approach this game with some intensity from the off. This is the worst Man Utd side in years and you can get at them, but we need to be very on it. My fear is that this side just doesn’t look robust enough to go to somewhere like Old Trafford and win - even if Man U are a very average side. It’s more likely that we’ll concede 2 or 3 easy goals and they’ll win comfortably, but I wish I could be more optimistic -

He’s definitely a player to bring off the bench later in games rather than a starter. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that he’s made his two most meaningful contributions playing this role -

I can 100% guarantee we will! -
Negatives: frustrating that we couldn’t get the win. There is still a worrying lack of consistency to our play and we never have games where we look ok for 90 minutes. It’s difficult to be optimistic and positive about Cooper, when the games feel so ugly. The better results still leave you with a feeling of dissatisfaction that we were never in control of the game. Positives: A goal every game demonstrates we must be doing something right. We aren’t playing with the complete lack of endeavour we had under Rodgers and that might help us to nick the extra points we need sometimes. The 2 points taken off Ipswich are as vital as the 1 we gained. At least we haven’t let Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Ipswich beat us. We’d have found a way to do exactly that under Brendan

Wow! This is getting exciting. I hope we get promoted

If only you had provided his scouting report. It could have saved us a lot of money! -
That’s the second worst line up I would have seen from us in the last 15 years Only beaten by last night’s eleven
-
We’ll be losing 3-0. Soumare and Daka will come on. Daka will score 4 and Soumare will assist 2 of them - in the greatest redemption arc of all time.

We've had so many games over the last three seasons that felt like a "must win" and we've lost nearly all of them. The only ones we've won are against Southampton last season and this. It's ironic as when we got relegated from the Premier League last time it was the two games against Southampton that really cost us. We gave them six points and we just can't afford to do the same to Ipswich
-
Yes - unfortunately we all know it
-
Was it my imagination or did Enzo play a game last season where Faes was effectively the LB when we were defending in this formation? I can't remember the game and I might have got it wrong, but I seem to remember Faes doing ok. As long as they don't have to be the overlapping full back in the traditional sense I think both Okoli and Faes are capable of this role

I guess I can see the value of Skipp a bit more. He covers Winks and Ndidi even if he’s not an upgrade. You’re right though that a creative midfielder is what we really needed and still do. -

The frustrating thing is that any of us armchair pundits could see how poor these signings were. It beggars belief sometimes that people who are actually paid lots of money to make these decisions couldn’t Ayew would have been an ok signing on a short term contract with no transfer fee Edouard is a waste of wages and I’d rather have kept Cannon BDCR should never have been on the radar. I’d have rather gambled on a younger player, but even McAteer is better -
Some sort of composure at the back. Faes and Okoli are both bomb scares and might do better with a more static CB beside them. The problem is Jannik needs someone to do his running for him and that affects our shape. It comes with risk as it needs a coach who understands how to get the best out of the individuals and to set the team up accordingly

Post match - Man Utd Carabao Cup - 5-2 loss

There is a bit of that. Beat Ipswich and this game will be quickly forgotten. With that starting line up, however, SC has put all his eggs in one basket -

That was a shocking starting side from us, but my worry is the ease that we concede chances. Theoretically Justin, Okoli, Coady, Thomas and Ward have plenty of PL experience. I know that Ward and Thomas have proven over many games that they aren’t at the required level, but I’m not sure what combination gets us the solidity and composure we require. Maybe Vestergaard is part of the answer, but currently I can’t pick a back four that would give me any confidence -
F’kin hell - we’ve seen some poor decisions, but that would surely be a new low
-
yeah thanks
-
Hopefully when Stolarczyk is fit we’ll never see him again
-
None. He’s just really not a very good player
-
You should calm down and revisit this sentiment if we fail to beat Ipswich at the weekend
-
Upon reflection if Manchester United fail to beat this team - at home - then the club should be immediately disbanded
-
It’s a sh1t team. In fact it’s whole new levels of sh1t!!! But there is logic in it. I was worried we’d start our best X1 and subsequently lose any form or confidence for the Ipswich game. At least they’ll be fresh for that. Big gamble for Cooper though. We probably lose this and it’s all eggs in one basket for Ipswich
