To be fair I'm not overly aware of injury issues at Celtic or Liverpool but that's not to say you are wrong on that. I would just be very surprised if an organisation (or organisations in this instance) paying millions in transfer fees and wages would allow a manager to hold so much sway over the medical attention given to players. Since they are their primary assets you would think they would ensure they were looked after regardless of the managers needs and wants. To that end I would assume that the fitness of players and injury issues as such was a club issue as opposed to a specific manager issue. But that is very much a speculative assumption.
-
But that is somewhat speculative is it not? SInce without knowing what discussions have been had between the manager, medical staff and player how do you know where to apportion blame? You seem to have in depth insider knowledge beyond my reach. To me that seems like a failing of the medical team as opposed to the manager.
-
How is Fofana's injury his fault? Or Perreira, or James Justin? These are long term knee injuries/broken legs. This is exactly the nonsense I'm talking about. The set piece problem is actually something to be discussed. A genuine failing of the team and management. Absolutely let's talk about these things. Blaming him for a horrendous tackle on our centre back in pre-season is a loads of old cobblers.

I find a lot of the criticism directed towards Rogers is either based on his personality traits, or spurious, speculative reports of discussions, arguments and fallouts of which we know very little. None of us know what Rogers is like in person or what he's like to deal with. And more to the point who cares anyway. Klopp and Pep are both massive narcissistic b***ends, they are still class managers. He might well be an arrogant toad, but I think he's a really good manager. (as does he I would imagine๐)

No. As mentioned in my earlier post. Having said that, I don't think it has been anywhere near as bad as a lot of the fans make out on here. We're still trying to do the right things so far as I'm concerned. I like to see teams dominate the ball and try and play out from the back. If I compare it against previous years, with the exception of 15/16 season I still think it's better standard of football than we've played under any previous manager. . I like the fact it's a young team trying to play the 'right way' as it were and I think the failure to be consistent is part of the price you pay when you have a young team. Look I get people's current frustrations, I just can't get on board with the vitriol. It seems disproportionate to the success of the previous seasons and the fact that at worst we are having a mediocre season.
-
Come on we played pretty well on Sunday. Second half played some great stuff particularly.
-
I hate it when we score out of spite. ๐
-
No. But for me it makes it far more worth while if I enjoy the brand of football we are playing though. Just out of interest what would you class as a good season Kilworth fox? Where should we be finishing in your opinion?

In B Rod we trust. Rogers has turned us into a possession based, technical side who score a lot of goals and in the main are good to watch. The past two season are the best football I have witnessed any Leicester team play by some distance. He has established us as a top 6/7 team which we never were before and I really feel this reset in expectation (that he has achieved) is the very stick being used to beat him. I think he has taken a more pragmatic approach this year, probably to offset the inconsistencies of previous seasons and it hasn't worked. Even with all that we still score a lot goals. Don't get me wrong I'm still kicking the cat Kurt Zouma style when we concede late goals and throw away victories, but for me if you're winning with 5 minutes to go, then the manager has done his job, it's the players who need to see the win out. Experienced players like Ndidi and Tielemans need to take more responsibility and be accountable. The final minutes against Spurs were a shambles, and everyone blames Rogers. There are experienced internationals on that pitch. They don't need their hands held and to be talked through how to see out a match. And I know to that many of you will say well it would help if he didn't bring Vestergaard, and you would be absolutely right to say that, but loads of managers stick with players that are baffling. Look at Klopp and Dejan Lovren. He stuck with him for two seasons or more. I think fans need to think carefully about who is around, and who would come in to replace Rogers. There aren't many great managers around, very few that could take us forward. He's done a great Job in his spell here. He deserves time to continue his good work and see what he can do. Is Rogers perfect - certainly not, but I'm not sure we can do better so let's just get behind him and the boys and enjoy what is a very fruitful period in Leicester's history. Believe me, this 'success' won't last forever. Ask Sunderland, Forest, Wednesday....the list goes on. (For the record I don't have a cat - it's a joke)

Couldn't agree more.

He really went up in my estimation when he threw the Chelsea pendant across the room. I appreciate that level of disrespect towards these bigger clubs. He's very likeable Armatey but not the best admittedly. Goal against Forest probably sums him up but still I can't help but like him.
-
Absolutely spot on. When that guy says as a fan base we've been incredibly patient what does that even mean? Comparably this has been the best period in Leicester history. Two seasons of european football and an FA cup and nearly breaking into the top 4 twice. If that is patience I'd love to know what zen like tactics Everton fans possess. Or spurs. Or West Ham or any of the other 80+ clubs who haven't been able to enjoy anything like that kind of success during that period.
-
Except Ole wasn't one of their most successful ever managers was he. He's one of their least successful. I agree the quicker B Rods gone the quicker we can get back to finish mid table, if not a relegation battle rather than battling for champs league and europe like we have done under Rogers.

And the fan of the year award goes to....

It's not amad eup commentary. It's a reflection of what I see. This entire board is a litany of fans demanding the head of someone I perceive as a manager who for the most part been a major success. I do understand the anger, I understand this season has been immensely disappointing but I would also like to see some balance and acknowledgement that actually this is an unprecedented period of success in Leicester's history and he has been a central cog in that achievement. I also don't comprehend how being in the top four and falling out at the death is worse than being fifth all season or equally having been placed lower and finishing fifth on the last day. In fairness to yourself 77, you are one of the few who at least recognise Rogers has done a decent job. As I say I understand the frustration and anger but not the hyperbole and the panic. I've been a Leicester fan for over thirty years and if we finish in the top ten this season it will still be one of the best seasons Leicester have enjoyed in that time so I can't get on board with the negativity.
-
well said Benny two hats. I can't abide the negativity. Fans acting like this is a crisis. Worst day to be a Leicester fan etc. Absolute nonsense. Backing the team includes backing the manager and not throwing your toys out the pram because we haven't established ourselves amongst the top four. Neither have spurs, neither have Arsenal, neither have West Ham, nor Wolves nor Everton nor any other club who has spent considerable more than us to have achieved far far less tan we have achieved in the past three seasons under Rogers. Considering he is by far and away our most successful manager over a number of seasons I find the criticism bizarre and the desire to what rid even more perplexing. Who are these fans bringing in to replace him?

Fans complaining about recruitment now. Jesus. Daka not good enough for you? James Justin, Wesley Fofana, these guys not cutting the mustard for you? MY NEXT manager would be one who wins everything and recruits well and plays exciting football. And is cheap.

Worst day to be a city fan? Because Rugby players don't ever resort to violence.

MIdfield were awful yesterday. Against a team a league below ndidi, tilemenas and maddison should be good enough to get their foot on the ball and dictate the game. Failed to impose themselves at all yesterday
-
We seem to be much better when we defend higher up the pitch. Suyuncu in particular is a much better defender when we are on the halfway line and he is aggressively nipping it to pinch the ball etc. But in order for that to happen we need to be pressing from the front and pushing the opposition back which we don't seem to do as much. Too often we are sat very deep in our own half, which presents two problems; One we can't defend deep, Evans is our only real natural defender and he is crocked, and two we seem to really struggle to play out once we are deep in our half and teams can and do pin us in. Like forest did yesterday. Personally I think it's a confidence issue. I think the injuries to evans and fofana mean we are trying to compensate by defending slightly deeper and the consequence is we are not dominating possession and attacking because they are too busy tactically covering off their weaknesses. Equally, Rogers has opted more often for a tactic of sitting in and keeping it tight for 60 mins and then playing a more expansive game last twenty. It has worked in some games, LIverpool etc but too often it has resulted in essentially us being battered for the first half and the game then running away from us like the arsenal home game. All in all I think we've struggled to find a balance all season, a task not helped by a plethora of injuries as well.
-
Again fair point, but essentially there you are castigating someone for over achieving in the first place. Yes we failed to cement the champions league spot twice, and no doubt that is disappointing, but we weren't ever even close to being a top 4/5 club before Rogers arrived. Two 5th place finishes in a row and an fa cup and community shield is progress surely? Honestly I can't abide the negativity. We play good football (when we have the ball), we score a shed load of goals and yes results haven't been as we would have liked this season, but that is only because we have become accustomed to sitting in the top 4, which is the very stick being used to beat Rogers.
-
The slump that includes winning the FA Cup, community shield and finishing 5th? If this is a slump I'd hate to hear how you define the other 137 years of our history.
-
Well said SMR. That's a fair point about Ranieri but we were one point above relegation when we sacked him. We are tenth currently, with games in hand. If the season ended today it would still rank as one of our most successful ever seasons.
-
In. Why would you get rid of your most successful manager, during the clubs most successful period in it's entire history unless you're a moron?
