I keep seeing this, obviously the fans love him but I don’t understand why? Keeping Newport up would be an ok achievement but hardly heroic. In fact their form has been poor, it’s just that Barrow and Harrogate’s has been even worse. We need someone who can coach but who also isn’t afraid to call a spade a spade when it comes to the boardroom. Maresca gave it a go through media leaks but ultimately half the fanbase thought he was the problem and not the idiots in charge.

Has anyone ever won it in a situation like Hatton’s, where they were in the clubhouse an hour or two before everyone else?

I definitely appreciate your argument but I just disagree. I love watching England play and especially when we beat the Aussies and Indians BUT the success of the county championship is how it’s tied to the county identity. I am a Leicestershire fan first and foremost. Otherwise if we want a direct England pathway, we need another level in between county and international. County cricket is one of the big success stories and I think history shows us that having overseas players in the league makes it stronger which indirectly and directly makes the England team stronger.

Any player on wages above 20k a week who refuses to leave next season is imo worse for this club than Dennis Wise. They will be actively engaging in an action that will lead to the liquidation of the football club over the short to medium term.

What I like about Surrey is that they always stick up for the county game and they’ve always spoken very highly of the value that the smaller counties bring to the game. They were anti-hundred, basically the only test match club that were, even though they benefit from it. So I’m glad they get the attendances and can’t really begrudge them the success.

Delighted for Rishi after throwing his wicket away twice last week. Lewis finally got a bit of rhythm too. Would love him to get a big score as many people have noted it’s all about confidence for him.

Structurally we are MUCH better under Rowett and the stats back it up. Unfortunately we have a bunch of bottleless, pathetic numpties that take to the pitch game after game who are either not arsed or who have a panic attack when they have to make a decision. Marti’s stats were always skewed by James and Fatawu scoring worldies. We have been one of the worst teams in the league all season.

What growth do Harborough have as a club? I’ve never been but believe they play on artificial turf? Could they expand the ground? Could they push on to an even higher level??

Can’t really speak for first class standard but at club level I’ve found very green pitches are often quite dead, especially when the suns out.

The team just looks a bit better with Vestergaard in it?? Is that how bad we are??
