The argument against that would be changing an attack which, believe it or not, isn’t high up the priorities to change. It’s shit whatever you do, but this way you at least keep our only 3 dangerous players in their positions.

I said in my first post, I agreed with what you were saying, but disagreed with the point that you can say that Andy King did a better job in pre season and you have digressed away from that.

Listened to this while driving back from up north, good pod as ever. I think some of the points you discussed are very linked. Why are we struggling to appoint the DOF or whatever we are calling it?- It can’t be a secret in the football world that we are a complete shambles and there can’t be another club in the 92 that has the perfect storm of being up shit creak financially, having players that are overpaid and don’t want to be here, having a divided fanbase who have experienced the highest of highs in the last 15 years and the mammoth rebuild that’s incoming. If I was a young, highly regarded person in this role elsewhere I’d avoid it like the plague as the odds are heavily stacked against you. This will probably mean the likely candidate ends up being someone completely unqualified or utterly unhinged. Re signing this striker from Sweden, If we are seriously interested and sign him then I’d put money on it all being about getting a good look at him for next season as like you said, we won’t have a striker on our books in the summer. I’m in no doubt this for the rest of this season, we are the same players we already have. Ive said this a few times, our window will leave us weaker on paper and squad depth wise overall.

It’s pretty clear to me, the same group of players are playing week in week out, and sometimes twice a week. Some of them, are too old to be doing that but Marti doesn’t seem to think he has another option. Other than Ayew, Ricky P and BDCR, who else are you noticing is looking worse fitness wise?
