Southampton away - who had their ticket and ID checked ?
TamworthFoxes replied to coolcol's topic in Leicester City Forum
Exactly this. I’m genuinely surprised how many people seem to think it is fine to just buy a ticket without any thought of if they will actually go to the game. And then closer to the time either give it to family or friends or sell it on here! It’s pretty simple really, if you are not going to go to the game don’t buy a ticket. Having followed England for many years it may just be more familiar to me to have to collect tickets and prove you go to places. In the 90’s you had to send plane tickets and hotel receipts to prove you had been to the country. It may be unpopular but I can see what the club is trying to achieve here. -

This is a really poor way to have been treated by the club. Hopefully you get an apology and perhaps a free stadium tour for you and both children. Whilst I am in cautious agreement of what they are trying to do with this initiative, in your circumstances common sense should have prevailed. Hopefully this doesn’t stop you and your family from continuing to support, if the unthinkable happens this season we are going to need all the fans we can get. -

I completely agree about the not selling general sale for games such as Southampton away and Newcastle away earlier in the season. That is pure greed for membership fees over filling an away end with our own support. However in this case I have to say I agree with the clubs stance. They have obviously identified a massive problem here, 45 tickets out of 100 is a shocking statistic which shows just how many of our tickets end up in the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. If 90+ had been picked up by the correct people then yes we could all sit here saying there is absolutely no need for this over zealousness as we have no problem at all. -

The post a few above yours said that 45% of a sample of 100 were not collected. That suggests we have a massive problem of people not attending who buy the tickets originally. Not defending the club here but with stats like that they are more than justified in doing it and I imagine will continue to do it. Perhaps the problem is bigger than we all thought. However way we try to dress it up ie oh it was just a dad taking a different sibling. The fact 45 % didn’t collect when ID was required shows a hell of a lot of tickets must get into the hands of people they were not intended for. We all constantly moan about our crap away ends, maybe getting rid of ticket blockers will allow people lower down to get more tickets and improve things. -
Could even be someone from this thread! Quite a few said they didn’t see anything wrong with it and would be quite happy with away fans sat all round them. Fair play for seeing it through the correct channels with the club. Hopefully a suitable punishment will be administered.

“Jamie Vardy has won more than you”
TamworthFoxes replied to An Away Move's topic in Leicester City Forum
Are we only allowed to sing songs that are verified as facts? We are going to need a fact checking overhaul on our songs. Anyone help out with the below? Are we 100% by far the greatest team the world has ever seen? If you smile, does the entire world actually smile with you aswell? Has Vardy ever walked upto Venger and told him to chat shit get banged? Does anyone actually live in the Kop? Is it purely blue and white even? Did Vichai actually have a dream or was it purely a business decision? Can I suggest the first fact checked song for us to crack on with “Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester Leicester.”- 104 replies

It may get peoples backs up but it’s true I’m afraid mate, however you want to try and talk around it. People who make noise and encourage are better SUPPORTERS because they support the team. People who attend and sit quiet and moan may well love the club but they don’t actively SUPPORT. Think of a fun run/charity run. All the people go in the race for whatever reason. The lad who finishes first is a better/superior runner to the old lady who comes in last place (after a little stop for a flask of tea). Both may have different reasons for going but in terms of running the race the lad who comes first is undoubtedly a better runner. Now swap the race scenario for going to watch Leicester play, the same two people who ran the fun go to the match. Again the lad who makes noise and encourages is a better supporter than the old lady who came last and again brings her flask of tea to the game but sits in silence cuddling her filbert teddy and talking to Doris sat next to her who have both had the same seat since the ground opened. Now I’m sure the old lady is a lovely lady, a terrific wife, mother and grandmother but unfortunately and it doesn’t matter how much you try to wrap it up, she is not as good a runner or active SUPPORTER as the lad who run the fun run in 35 minutes and then creates an atmosphere with his ufs mates.

But that’s the main reason you don’t like them?!? And now you have admitted it’s not even them!!?? 😂😂
-
I am not a member of ufs but I think they are superior to most of our other fans. Reason being they actually support the team. There is a difference between supporting the team and just attending, like most of the other 27,000 mutes that attend and want to be entertained. Dont take it personal that they are superior supporters to you, you are probably good at DIY or something. We can’t all be good supporters. Some just come for the tea (in porcelain mugs) and sandwiches (from a lunchbox). These types are not good fans but they could probably knit you a jumper for Christmas whereas i doubt anyone from ufs could.

That was me and my dad, don’t worry Tommy I won’t tell him you slag him off on the internet. Or that you keep offering me sweets.
-
Most on here would welcome some away fans in with them by the sounds of it. Perhaps share a clapper? Sit there and accept it is the worst they can expect by the sounds of it. From reading on here an away fan can expect shares on the mug of tea, half a sandwich and a hand job from the fellas wife while their team strokes home another goal they are no doubt filming.

So you would have been happy with 3 Arsenal fans in front of you? Or 3 Forest fans next time we play them? You would obviously be fine with it, as we should just control ourselves? Happy to let them celebrate right in front of you aswell? Ok to taunt you and chant right in your face? If you think this would be accepted at Leeds, Villa or Everton or any club with any self respect you are in cloud cuckoo land. I guarantee try it in them grounds and you would be kicked down every step to the exit.

😂😂This is the future my friend. The club will be loving this, we can be the Fulham of the Midlands and have one giant mixed stadium, where fans of both teams can come together and enjoy the game together. In regards to are they causing trouble question, if someone had of manned up and kicked off with them, they would have then been causing trouble merely by being there. We are a laughing stock.
-
Fair play for getting Maddison to join in with the ufs protest aswell. Hope the club backtrack as we will be relegated without him.
-
Just shows how much we rely on the ufs lads for even the rubbish atmosphere we usually have. Who would have thought the oap and family brigade would be so quiet. From a club who brings you goal music and honesty flags I expect the atmosphere in the championship next year to be piped in on a soundtrack like it was for the sky matches during covid.

Thanks for the reply. Just found it strange when I saw the odds. It’s not often the bookies are wrong.

Just noticed that tomorrow nights fight has the YouTuber fella as the favourite. Now surely 11/10 for an actual professional boxer is buying money against an amateur? Am I missing something here as I don’t really do social media so don’t know much about the YouTuber?

Five charged over Forest FA Cup violence
TamworthFoxes replied to Wymsey's topic in Leicester City Forum
Always makes me laugh this "They are not proper Leicester fans", or they are "not proper England fans" which is spouted when lads get locked up. I hat to break it to you mate but majority of the time they most certainly are proper fans. Just because you don't like what they get up to doesn't make them not fans. If people want to fight they can fight anywhere. If football lads travel half way round the world (In England fans cases) often with no tickets they certainly are proper fans. Bigger fans than the majority. Like I say just because you don't like what they do doesn't make them not real fans. I dont know any of this group personally but I would stake a large wedge of next months wages they have been Leicester fans for years and have been to more games than 95% of people on here. -
Will be interesting to see if he gets the chance to resurrect his career after the CPS announced they will not be running with the case today. The circumstances of what have happened have not changed because of today’s announcement and people tend to forget that ie the consensus will now be that he was innocent. Exactly the same as the Thomas Partey situation earlier this year. Just remember if I drink drive home from work and don’t get caught I’m still a drink driver.

My idea to improve our away ends is quite extreme and would require assistance from the club (so will never happen). But I will explain it. It involves a anonymous text number which fans can text or ring if they see anyone who comes in the following categories. Once we have eradicated the category we move onto the next category and only stop when the atmosphere has improved and we are not the laughing stock of football every time the cameras pan onto the crowd. Once they have been identified they can be issued with a club authorised banning order to stop them getting tickets anymore. 1) Any body with a flask, a porcelain cup or a knitted blanket. 2) Any body over the age of 75. 3) Any body who takes their own clapper. 4) Any body over the age of 70. 5) Any body who wears a club branded bobble hat. 6) Any body who wants to sit down 7) Any body who doesn't make any noise. 8) Any body who has travelled on coach 1. 9) Any body who doesn't drink at least 5 pints before they go in. 10) Any body over the age of 65. I would like to think things would have improved by the time we got to Category 9 or 10.

How’s our oap ultras going to hold their cups of tea in their porcelain cups if they are expected to bounce around like that?
-
This is hilarious!!! Not surprised in the slightest.

Good post op and I agree with everything you have said. We are an embarrassment on and off the pitch at the minute. We are about as intimidating as a trip to Cheltenham. Things will not change in the near future and it’s exactly what the club wants. I have visions of us being relegated at home later this season without a slight bit of anger from our ageing, family friendly fan base. Absolute embarrassment at home in terms of support and we ain’t much better away at the minute. When you see pictures of our crowd zoomed in on tv it’s always old ladies or weird looking old men wrapped up in massive coats. Other teams have young lads stood up making noise not looking like an advert for saga. The club refusing to sell tickets to general sale does not help. Its a proper grind following this club at the minute.

I have been successful in the last 28 consecutive ballots. My best mate does work in the ticket office though. 👀
