  1. You're right. The kids have been round a few times for their ball back in the past, they seem nice enough kids. Polite. I once lived quite near to Iwan Roberts - thats about as good as it gets for living near LCFC players for me!
  2. Very, very productive day and some cracking time spent with the wife and kids too, love this sunshine. What does grind my gears is that again the kids behind us have managed to break our shed window with a football. Do I mention it to the parents now? Its a concern these leather balls coming over anywhere when my young kids and wife are in the garden? Do I stick a nail through the ball and kick it back? What would you do?
  3. I realise no one else will care but - for Rod Hull... see below (before I'm banned again, for nothing, again). Tagine http://www.chilliandchocolate.com/recipes/nigel-slaters-spicy-moroccan-lamb-tagine-with-buttered-couscous/ I leave out the almonds and go with slightly more fruit - apricots and sultanas and also add in some pulses/beans. Spice to your tastes - and try to slow cook it. Recommend adding sherry with this particular recipe, not too early, maybe an hour before serving just to 'loosen' it all a little. Soup http://www.food.com/recipe/gordon-ramsay-s-roasted-tomato-soup-370287 Great tasting soup but I prefer thicker so use more tomatoes, onions and add peppers. I enjoy adding some balsamic flavour too - but not to all tastes. I added a little pearl barley just to add a bit of bulk as well in this case, but its fine without. If you use this recipe as a guide and mess about a bit and experiment, you'll get great results suited to your tastes. Made a carraway bread to go with it also and had a portion earlier, was lovely. If you give it a go, let me know how you get on.
  4. Think you're confused mate. I know this is Foxestalk, but its because we all support the foxes, (Leicester City), we're not all actually foxes...
  5. The tagine turned out superbly. I used a recipe I've used a few times before but toned down the heat a little and added some more 'bulk' in the form of various pulses and beans. The biggest success was the soup, which I now have about 8 litres of - the wife loves it. The basis of that recipe was Ramsey's tomato soup - although I add a balsamic reduction, caramelised onions and sweet peppers. Recommend using vegetable stock (a good one). I'll post up the tagine recipe which I find works well - the key, as with a lot of stews/casseroles/broths etc is not to rush it, get your prep done and get it on a low team. I do actually have a tagine to cook it in, but have had just as good a result using a casserole pot, browning the meat and then sticking it in the oven (or even using a slow cooker). My top tip for the tagine is to add either vermouth OR sherry depending on whether you want the sweetness or not. Both flavours work fantastically.
  6. On the cooking theme I've today made a fantastic tomato and pepper soup, a lamb tagine and a beef bourgignon, split in to portions and frozen for the wife once I'm back to work. Bangers, mash and onion gravy for dinner with a few bottles of bitter and twisted.
  7. Billy Bragg - Back to Basics album A classic.
  8. I can see what you're getting at there. You might be right. I think Django Unchained is worth seeing.
  9. All sounds good to me. Good luck with it.
  10. 14,000 of them spring to mind. I hope LCFC's STH database is adequately protected/encrypted.
  11. Bloody hell, we are making progress here. You don't know them personally or individually hence why you (understandably) have to generalise. Do you now understand why other people have to generalise about groups of people, whilst understanding they are all not a bunch of identical people, we cannot deal with them on an individual basis since we don't have the time or inclination to do so? Do you get it? The reason for generalisations and why people make them?
  12. I would suggest everyone in this country cares for others and is concerned with the plight of others. I think most would just say they don't mind helping people if those same people are happy to try to help themselves. If they don't want to help themselves, don't give them any help. Let them go.
  13. Not true, neither have lawns they are responsible for.
  14. Thought Leics were going to chase that down. Ridiculous. Good catch to get rid of the new overseas player though. Think the T20 campaign is pretty much over.
  15. Yeah, hence there is no welfare state, no benefits handed out to the workshy, no charities in this country, no free NHS.... Oh, hang on, you're talking rubbish. Someone pays for this all you know. What do you want from everyone? A constant outpouring of emotion about it? .
  16. What could you consider to be an acceptable time to mow your lawn on a weekday/weekend? Rincewind - in advance I apologise for any offence caused. This is not a jibe at homeless people. I understand they do not have lawns (but also - do not therefore have to bother mowing a lawn)/
  17. I've done quite a few and really enjoyed them. Quite often only one month or two month courses and gives a real taster of a subject.
  18. Django Unchained is really, really good for a bit and then bloody terrible. Its like the script writers completely gave up with the plot and the dialogue, the actors and director had somewhere else to be and the film really suffers as a result.
  19. I don't like to assume the role of the pedant, especially just four (admittedly very good) posts in, but in the signature above, encouraging all to reassess our views of the 'homeless' as if they even can be considered to be one homogenous group sharing identically similar qualities, to a man; the word 'productiveness' is used... I'm not convinced this is a word and perhaps it should be replaced with 'productivity'? Just a l;ittle ironic and jars a little when this error is included within a sentence preaching 'intelligence'. Moreover, why should it matter whether we consider someone 'capable' of dignity? Surely dignity and the act of being dignified is its own reward? Why is the perception of anyone else important? I am of course anti-homelessness and inequality and indeed negative assumptions/generalisations at all within society. The downtrodden now 'underclasses' must pull together against a common enemy who would keep them downtrodden. I may write a song about it - perhaps a new album even.
  20. Another day dawns grey, it's enough to make me spit But we go on our way, just putting up with it
  21. Hi. Are all your guys and lasses from Leicester? What's the connection? Is stalking big in Leicester? Do you just stalk foxes? Or specifically someone called 'FOXE'? Anyone have any experience stalking females? We can exchange tips.
  22. The most pernicious effect of the monarchy on our society is to be seen in the concept of the Crown in Parliament. It allows the Prime Minister to declare war, sign treaties and appoint cronies to the legislature, among other things, without first consulting MPs. A new constitutional settlement is needed to remove the monarchy from the legislative process and make the people sovereign in their own parliament. Would this necessitate the abolition of the monarchy? I don’t think so. Living in a multicultural society means that you have to show respect for beliefs and practices that you yourself may not adhere to. That includes the monarchy, morris dancing and the Church of England.
