Not sure if it’s ever been mentioned on here before but I thought some members may be interested. In March 1977 development plans for the Beaumont Leys area of Leicester were published and include speculative proposals for a 35,000-capacity, all seater stadium, complete with synthetic pitch. The board quickly resolved to reject any move from Filbert Street, so plans were shelved.

Have we ever gone into the first game of the season with such a lack of optimism and a squad that’s this badly assembled? At least we used to sign old shit and Hungarians we’ve never heard of in the dark times.

Let’s be honest it’s a ****ing shambles… I try to stay as positive as possible but I’ve never had the optimism drained out of me as quickly as this preseason . I thought we’d have a fighting chance if we showed the form we did at the end of last season but based on pre-season and the lack of any credible quality being added to the squad this summer I’m dreading a hiding week on week.

Are we trying to maximize the lack of selling time for the 3rd kit?

Let's be fair he's got a good track record and it works for us if its just for a year. Hopefully an option to buy if it goes well, if not no great shakes and we're not saddled with him (i.e. Daka).

Every single Forest fan reckons we’ll love him, seems to be down to earth, completely about the football, ambitious but loyal. I honestly reckon we could have another O’Neil on our hands. Don't forget what happened the last time we had a bloke come in and change very little. The fact that we dont have £500m to be throwing around on new players means he’s going to have to polish some turds and improve some of the deadwood we have sitting around. Unless some nutty bastard comes in and takes Ward, Soumare and Daka off our hands for a decent fee we’ve still got a lot of the Brendan legacy sitting around eating up a large part of the wage bill.

The nice thing about buying from Nike or Adidas is you guarantee a child has been forced into making not just one but hundreds of ‘official’ shirts in the same day.
