You are correct and that will be the next step. Some clubs already have this enabled and it stops a thing other than instant sharing as the code is invalid. Many other events use this the O2 has moved to this for events.

Season tickets auto update in your wallet a few hours after the last game ends. Had digital for a long time never had an issue. All my tickets from other clubs appear the same way don’t remember the last time I had a paper ticket. My train tickets, airline tickets, boarding passes and hotel key locks all appear the same way.
