  1. Silverware? Oh come on:) Even Leicester would not win the EL:)
  2. Why play 6 group games?....straight knock-out I'd be OK with. Why should our PL rivals be fresh and play us 3 days after trips to Athens, Istanbul etc? Southampton were second best even though we were tired after Turkey...Watford just about made their freshness tell.
  3. Outplayed Southampton - should have had game wrapped up by half-time. Shocking second half against Watford but ask Hornets fans....most would admit Burnley were the better side in the first 45 minutes. Could easily have 3-6 points so far instead of 1 if chances taken. Personally, I hope we exit Europe next next Thursday, but have a strange feeling Dyche will have us extra fired up after the Greeks' skullduggery.
  4. Hope Leicester make a quick decision - I don't want you approaching Dyche if we make a bad start. I
  5. Olympiakos or Lucerne if we can get past Istanbul - unlikely. But if we do get past the Turks, I can see us beating Olympiakos/Lucerne and getting to group stage (not ideal).
  6. Dyche and Benitez joint favourites to leave first - especially if Burnley get knocked out by Aberdeen tonight. I'm putting £20 on the Dons at 8/1 with a covering £30 on the draw at 3/1. Basically, a fed-up Dyche has said that he sees no long-term PL future for Burnley unless they get a wealthy backer like the vast majority of PL clubs. Burnley's "owners" have a net wealth of about £80 million - the next "poorest" are the Pozzos at Watford with £350 million.
  7. It's OK ...we had Adam Ledgzins in goal for us yesterday. Going up in the world,
  8. Mirror article not strictly true. Dawson played in a friendly against Barnsley last week. Burnley want him but Dawson wants £75k a week.
  9. We are trying to get Rory Delap out of retirement to link up with Crouch. The BFC money is shared by the board based on how many shares.
  10. Not surprising there were "technical faults". Burnley's chairman negotiated a cut-price deal to fly up to Dyc(h)e Airport (Aberdeen) in a 1949 De Haviland Comet.
  11. Why would he have to wait? He is a billionaire who has even put in a bid to buy Wembley. He could buy Wembley with his loose change. I'm just popping over to MolineuxMix to see how many more Portuguese players Wolves have signed today/ Two? Three? Will they be taking anyone else (paying the wages of a Mendes player) on loan from a club (Atletico) trying to balance its FFP obligations?
  12. I don't get Fulham's owner who is now splashing out a fortune. Until last season, he was hardly willing to spend a penny in an attempt to get back to the PL. For two seasons, they were quite close to relegation to League One. They'll probably do OK like they did under Roy Hodgson and be mid-table for 3/4 seasons before having one bad season and getting relegated again.
  13. A lot do (think Coady) will be an England regular - read your own MolineuxMix more closely. The way Coady was being described, I thought I was reading about a new Franz Beckenbauer, breaking up play and spraying 50/60-yard passes on a sixpence to all parts of the pitch (against Burton Albion).
  14. I'm looking forward to seeing Coady in the PL.....Wolves fans think he will displace either Stones or Maguire in the England team. This is based on his displays against the likes of Burton, Barnsley and Bolton
  15. Dyche has got exactly what he wants...even if we beat Aberdeen, the Turkish team "with many pound notes" will beat us and there will be no disgrace to lose to a team with Adebayor, Turan, Clichy and a fair few other fading stars.. Then SD can concentrate on the league. His worst nightmare is reaching the group stages.
  16. One word....WATFORD:)
  17. Didn't leave Burnley on good terms. Agitated for a move to Liverpool in the January 2014 window. Topped it off by "bottling" it against Leicester in the vital relegation clash by declining to take the penalty which Matt Taylor missed. Give Ings his due, he did a lot of charity work at Burnley but he never really settled. He paid for 2/3 of his mates from the south coast to "live" with him in Burnley.
  18. We might get Clucas but no way Mawson. We won't offer a fee anything like the amount Swansea want and the player will probably hold out for a "bigger" club. Top six or Everton/West Ham. The Mawson "talk" is probably a load of rubbish by the Burnley board in the vain hope they'll "scare" West Brom into lowering what they want for Craig Dawson. It won't work. Mawson just a whisker away from an England cap last season.
  19. Unless there is a silly offer, Burnley won't be selling either Pope or Heaton in this transfer window....might be a different story in January if one of them is not getting game time.
  20. Why not? I thought Leicester considered themselves a Top 8 club with very rich owners. Apart from Everton and the top 6, who should have the highest wage bill?
  21. Almost. Burnley's vaults to store their pound notes and pound coins are a bit bigger (a bit like Fort Knox).
  22. If the board don't succeed in getting Dyche's main transfer targets (Dawson, Rodriguez), Burnley will be looking for a new manager by December.
  23. A couple of days in Florence/Rome/St Petersburg would be very nice but not at the expense of PL survival. Everton had a disastrous Europa League campaign and were genuine relegation possibles until Fat Sam steadied the ship.
  24. Burnley's new training complex incorporates a number of vaults to store the increasing amount of "pound notes". Only the chairman can gain access and he is a notorious "tight-ar*e" who has an aversion to spending money which can be saved for a rainy day.
  25. Premier League survival is the priority. A shame but Dyche is a pragmatist - he is big enough to take the flak if we lose to Aberdeen. Obviously, the players will want the group stages, but does Dyche if it increases the risk of relegation? Also, if we signed "extra" players just for Europe, we'd be lumbered with their wages for another two/three years if we got relegated.
