Solid defensive work by Justin there!
-
One of the sayings I have always heard in basketball, regarding Jannik -- You can't teach 6'6". He is an impressive target man for corner kicks.
-
Damn, hit the post!
-
But it does appear the players have got the message and are attacking much more quickly and decisively this half.
-
Jebus, Jamie! Row ZZ shot.
-
I will say, Watford have been decent defensively. Not unbeatable, but doing all the basic defensive duties.
-
A bit off-topic. The ref, Sam Allison, is a former lower-league player who has an interesting story. https://www.efl.com/news/2023/march/from-firefighter-to-match-official-sam-allisons-refereeing-journey/

We are creating good chances, just need to get the shots on-target. Make their keeper earn his pay!
-
That was a good fast break attack.
-
Good offensive pressure by Leicester. But also, pretty solid defending by Boro. Gonna come down to a mistake or a lucky bounce.
-
Briefly looking ahead -- it will be very interesting to see how Enzo structures the team while Winks is suspended. Who replaces Harry?
-
Jannik with a necessary foul, and a yellow card.
-
Leicester keeping possession pretty well early doors, but having a bit of trouble moving the ball out of their own half.

I was so very pleased to read this sentence. Players getting three (!) full days off in the middle of the season, especially a 46-game Championship season, is absolutely a rarity. And an entire weekend of no football (if you discount the Friday match)? Glory! Mental rest, as well as physical, is so good to get when it's available. Especially for our international players, who might have to play up to three games during the international break. (Yes I know most of them won't play three games, but still.)

Middlesbrough -- currently the definition of a mid-table team. 12th place, record 6-3-6. But I really don't know any details about their squad. Away game for us; we are undefeated away. Additionally we get seven full rest/recover/train days before this match. Definitely want to see our strongest team for this one. Would love to see Yunus back, and Kasey if he fits the manager's plan. Also, please start Kelechi and reserve Jamie as an impact sub. Please no more Casadei until/unless he shows significant improvement in training. Maybe even some U21 games until he is sorted. Shame that Wilfred is out. 1-3 Leicester. COYB!

Leeds are a good squad. We weren't outplayed, but they hung with us at almost every level. Their press was really good, and the went forward with hunger. It just took that one unlucky rebound, and a worldie save by Meslier to do us in. Still 11 points between us and third.

Beautiful pass from Faes!
-
I saw the stat pop up on the ESPN+ broadcast. I know in the NHL over here, it doesn't count as a shot on target unless there is a save by the goalie. Maybe the same in football?
-
Wow. Zero shots on target for Leicester ALL GAME.

Regarding Dominos pizza... I have nothing against a reasonably priced, average quality pizza delivered by a major chain, but -- surely there are better made, better tasting local choices available? I mean, I won't turn down a Dominos slice, but there are many local pizzerias I would definitely prefer.

I'll take that shot, even though it ended up in row Z.
-
Absolute end-to-end action! Love it!

I have always loved the 'English ref lecture' to an offending player. But I have always wondered what exactly the ref is telling the player...
-
Our defenders are doing an very good job of staying between potential shooters and the goal, rarely giving them an unobstructed window for a shot.
-
Thank goodness we have noticeably improved our defense against corners!
